Alright, basically, i just wanted a thread in which to vent everyone's frustrations on the stupidest little details about their blades that only THEY notice, and it bothers ONLY THEM!

My Anduril has some weird things about it. The pommel runes area seems really black, almost as though it were dusted with carbon or something like that. The runes are all filled in black as well. Not at all like the pics i've seen, where the pommel area is nice and bright silver. Also, i have about 4 scratches along the crossguard and my sun is too high (hell, they all are) and one of the rays is off to the side!

    Your turns........

*edit* hey, i DO mean lord of the rings sword, so this IS the right section? good

as discused in another thread, my glamdring has about 5 minor scratches and 1 major scratch on the crossguard.

my sting's "deviding line" (the line that runs down the center of the blade) is off center on one side. Plus, the scabbard caused a long scratch.

Sting with stratch from the scabbard.
Ranger Sword has some very light scratches on the pommel.
Witchking Sword has a small chip on the handle metal piece.
My Elendil Helmet has some finish that came off on the very top of the crests.

All of these details were not noticed by anyone but me. They tend to grate on me but I have tried to look past them.

The very, very tip of my ranger sword is bent its not noticable when its haging on the wall but when you take it down its not very hard to miss it.The reason I'm really mad about it is because my friend did it. :(

My Hadhafang has a very small gold speck that is on the blade, and there are a couple small scratches on the hilt. Oh, and my legolas knife handles are surprisingly dark, lol. It's ok, I love them anyway.

Both my Elven Knifes of Strider's pommels fell off AFTER 2 weeks. One one of them the triangle grove at the throat of the scabbard is missing, the knife does not sit perfectly in the scabbard as well. My first ranger sword has scratches at on the blade, on the pommel, and some of the joints on the cross guard are comming loose. (where the brass fittings are) My narsil had a knick in the blade, but I fixed that, but some of the finish on the guard is coming off.

yeah, they want the swords to look slightly used but basically kept in pristine condition. If you're the kind of person that takes your swords on and off a lot you'll notice that where teh sword sits on the littel L brackets, the layerr comes off, unless you have aquarium tubing on them or somethign along those lines

Wrap the brackets in string to solve the problem.

Well, both my swords are so crappy that you can spot the scratches from half way across the room.

You can try dipping the brackets for the plaque in liquid latex, also if you want to hang the sting scabbard I find threading an elastic band through the metal belt loop and slipping the ends over the brackets works OK (although maybe not the best idea to keep the sword partly in the scabbard). Works until you can think of something better. No probd with my swords though (I also use Windex).
My main worry is I want to order LWK and GD and all the stuff I am reading is making me wonder if I should wait even longer or should I risk it?

GD is the best piece I have seen from UC-- order it and be happy. As for LWK, the diarrhea-yellow handles are so hideously ugly that I can't even bear to look at them, much less hang them for display. On top of which the paint job on the handles themselves is crappy-- numerous blobs. Wait a year or so until UC uses up the erroneous dark wooden handles, and see what they look like then.

I give you my address, you can GIVE them to me. I'll even pay shipping.

I've seen the prop from the LOTR Exhibition. The handles are not 'white'. They are brown. I think UC has got the colour correct. What you see on the screen is probably due to color adjustments.
