I'm suprised to not see anything about it yet, so I'll start it. I want the Truth Seeker's Sword of Truth made from the Terry Goodkind Sword of Truth series. it's so simple and yet so magnificant, I want one so bad. but not only have I never seen any replicas I don't ever see anyone talking about it either. there's got to be someone else out there who wants to see this made. Who's with me??

Yeah. Hey, they made the Heron Mark from Wheel of Time... and it's actually a pretty cool sword (from what I've seen). They also made a dagger from WoT.

Interesting... I just came to this forum from Sword forum, where I have been searching for anybody's take on the Sword of Truth from Goodkind's series. I plan to make it one of these days, and have been looking for anyone else's interpretation of the sword as seen on each chapter heading in the books. I have gone so far as to make a blade blank from 5160 steel, but am waiting to get my forge up and running before i move along too much further with it.

When it is done I will try to remember to post a picture here, where there are a few interested fans to comment.

    Cool.

Can someone scan a picture and psot it here if any exist? Or is it just written descriptions in the books you're refering to? I'm intrigued now....

I made myself a version out of wood (kind of a fancy waster) that I have posted elsewhere on the net. I'll try to get a link on here for you to view. It is pretty much identical to the sword shown on the chapter headings.

(let's see if I can figure this image posting thing out...)

(Edit: Hey that wasn't too difficult!)

You may be sorry you asked, but here goes...
I made it pretty much like a person would make it out of steel. The blade was shaped using a jigsaw and belt grinder (the fuller was made first with a set of chisels, and then smoothed out with the belt grinder). The blade has a tang that goes through the guard and handle, both of which were cut out with a jigsaw (wish I had a band saw) and shaped and finished with the belt sander. Then the pommel was made by rough shaping with the jigsaw, then inserting a screw in the handle side, chucking it up in the drill press (poor man's lathe) and adding the profile contours with a sanding disk on another drill.

The final details carved into the pommel, and the word "Truth" on the handle were added using various chisels, and various dremel cutting and sanding tools.

Finally, the whole thing is assembled using the screw, which is set in the pommel, with the head cut off and the "head" end screwed into the tang.

I'ts not very strong, and would never stand up to the rigors of sparring as a real waster, but it was made mostly to see if I could do it, and to practice some of the techniques required to make a sword in a more forgiving medium.

Maybe this winter I'll find some time to make it for real.

    Thanks for the question.

I know this post has been dead for a while, but for anyone who cares, I have made an interpretation/replica of the Sword of Truth. Here is a picture of it.

Nice work Balthor, what's the blade made from? Did you grind/forge it out yourself or did you modify an existing blade? What about the fittings etc?

The blade is a DelTin bare blade, the fittings are made by me. Thanks for looking.
