Hmm, that sword looks like a crossbread between the haradrim sword and that orc sword :?

the hilt from the orc sword and the blade from the haradrim sword...

By the way, is that black round thing at the top a Urul Hai Helmet?

Another thing I noticed, when Sam is standing close to them, they appear to be hobbit sized, meaning these swords are not the oversized ones made to make the hobbits looks small, so I guess PJ or some set creator just had them thrown on the wall because it was bare.

Here's a couple of pictures from the Two Towers Extended DVD. The first one is from the Esterling gallery on the first Appendicies disc. The second ptcture is a concept drawing of Faramir's sword from the Faramir gallery. These are the two pictures off the DVD that were the closest match. The Esterling gallery didn't have a picture of the blade so I don't now if it's curved or straight.

I think someone mentioned that one of the swords was Gandalf's. I found this pic in Gandalf's gallery on the Fellowship Extended DVD. It's not the Glamdring used in the movie. Maybe this sword was used in rehearsals and the tip got damaged.

The fact that the other sword is Orc or Uruk-hai just doesn't make sense.
Their weapons were simplistic and designed exclusively for killing. They didn't design weapons to look good. The hilt on that sword has graceful curves and twists. Compare it to the scimitar. The scimitar is simple and the sword at bagend is artistic. There is no way that is an orc sword. :nono:

I saw the picture of the Uruk-hai holding that sword. I thought it was funny(that's funny- HAHA!!). That picture is sooooo unbelievable. That sword is too uncharacteristic of orcs and the Uruk-hai.

Well then it's an haradrim sword ;)

    It's certainly not an Uruk-Hai sword ;)

Haradrim?....I think you mean Esterling. Esterlings have the fancy gold armor, sheilds, and swords. Haradrim are dressed in ratty robes and their armor is made of sticks and bones. I really don't think the sword is Haradhrim either.

Well, first, who are you to tell an orc what they can and can't make? The swords of the Ringwraiths and of the WitchKing were made by orcs, and indeed so was Grond, the most massive iron weapon ever made, with extremely complex levels of design. Some say those were swords they had when they were kings, but why would they have swords with Mordorian thorn designs when none of them resided in Mordor?

Second, it's not really that fancy. It's a blade with a twisted design in the hilt. Quite easy to make because orcs used investment cast iron fittings.

Third, they had dozens of designs. Only the Uruk-hai had swords of singular design. So to say there is no way that is an orc sword when he is holding it is kind of stange.

Except that the cross and pommel are either brass or bronze on that one, and the one on Frodo's wall is iron, like the one the orc is holding.

Being allies, doesn't it make sense that the Orcs and Easterlings could have shared designs? Indeed the orcs are probably more capable at smeltering and forging, since they did have to have the skill to equip a 200,000 orc army, and no doubt the barren wasteland of Mordor is full of iron ore.

Probably the same reason I have swords on my wall- I like them and they are memories.

this is getting way blown out of proportion. its just a stupid prop wall hanger. its there for no reason whatsoever. there is a ton of props all over the place in bagend and barley any of them have any meaning. the onlything those swords could possibly be are somthing from the ROTK EE but i doubt it.

They could be from Bilbo's journey too.

I bet it'll be explained in the EE DVD, whether its in the film or in the commentaries.
