In one of the newest entries in his NotaBlog George say that he has just finished two chapters.
One with Arya and one with Sansa.

    Arya AND Sansa in aDwD!
    Interesting.

But George did say that aDwD would last a couple months longer than aFfC, and might contain some chapters in the end to keep the southern storylines up to pace.
Or Sansa could be going to the north or the eastern continent.
    Both interesting possibilities.
Littlefinger did talk about using Harry the Heir to take back winterfell in Sansas name.
And in one of his earlier updates he did mention writing a wedding.
We suggested at the time that it might be either Sansa or Dany getting married.

    Enough torture!

I NEED the book! I had read that if Martin can finish by the end of June then we shall have the book by the end of this year. I'm not sure how that works, but either way - I don't have much faith in our beloved writer. I know I know, quality over quantity. But I need ADWD!

    /end rant

I used to hate Sansa but since she and Petyr 'joined forces' (aka since she was kidnapped by our charming pedofile Littlefinger) I've really started to like her. I can't wait to see the interaction between Sansa and Harry. Although, it seems a bit too soon to be taking back Winterfell already.

The wedding, I am convinced, could be anyone. I don't think it's Dany, and now that I've said that it, of course, WILL be Dany. Who could she marry? Ok, ok - Victarion, Quenten, Gendry!

I want that sweaty, sexy Baratheon bastard back in my books!

(This was the most disjointed ASoIaF post I've ever written I believe)

It has nothing to do with that. Martin just plain doesn't write. They had to give him this deadline because they got tired of waiting. A Dance With Dragons should have been out last year at the latest. It was supposed to be out a year after A Feast for Crows in 2006 originally. The first three books when he had deadlines to meet came out in a six year period. (1996, 1998, 2000) Since 2000 we've had one book...that's unacceptable.

Sansa too? Cool... of course, that wedding could be hers now.

^ This really shouldn't have cracked me up as much as it did..

    lol, This thread is amazing!

@ DangerBird, I hope you're not right in regards to Martin not writing. When AFFC came out, ADWD was nearly half finished. I can't imagine how long we'll have to wait if he starting from scratch on the sixth book.

@ Lyanna, Laugh all you want girl. Just stay out of the way! Nothing will come between us! :D That's so gross, considering I am 22 and Gendry is...what? 14?

@ Joergensen, Don't knock it until you've tried it! ;)

Twincest... What a word. That's a word to enduce Nazi melting: previously only seen in Indiana Jones.

So I read this original post as "being caught in the act of twincest" or something like that.

That's all I really wanted to share.

Its not really a case of him not writing - didn't he have to rewrite the whole of either A Feast for Crows or Dance at some point due to an inconsistancy with the story?
As hard as it is to follow for readers - he has to follow it perfectly - to the letter. I would wait years to get a good well written book rather than months for a run of the mill book with plot gaps big enough to fit mets ego through ;)

Hmm, it seems it is more for the better that I got into the series a bit late. I don't have to wait for ages for the next book ;)

Not really. If you read his blog it really is a case of him just not writing. During football season (which he is a hardcore fan of) he pretty much doesn't write at all lol. I know all about the rewrites, but it's been eight years since a Storm of Swords came out...I think by now he should have finished with both of these books especially considering A Feast of Crows isn't even as long as the first three books anyway.

Oh, I agree. I didn't start reading the series until a year or two. Right now I'm distracting myself with Feist's 35 books, but I still want ADWD :(
