I'm completely new here so any help finding the ropes round here would be appreciated :p
My name is Jasmine, I am from England and am 17 years old and I am currently doing my A levels. Ermm.. What else would you like to know? I /love/ reading and am starting my own book at the moment, hence looking round for a forum for ideas. I would love to critique other pieces too, as I said I enjoy reading. :)

My favourite authors... Too many to count :p I love The Wheel of Time Books (Robert Jordan), David Eddings, Trudi Canavan,...the list goes on o_0

Soyeah send me a message and i'll figure out how to check my mail on here :D

    Vegemite land is Australia :p

I'd say most members are from the US. There's probably more English and Europeans than Aussies too.

we should all count temperature in Calvin. That would make the most sense.
0= it won't get any colder.
And everything else is just nonsense.

Except that it's easy to remember water freezes around 0°Celsius, boils at 100°C and is "thickest" around +4°Celsius.

Blame Alex. He's the first Aussie I ever "met" I think.
Even the awesome Australian exchange studen couldn't reverse this first impression.

    Whut? :sitonsmil
Ummm, I'll try to make sense of it:
Kelvin is the temperature scale with an actual point 0: It doesn't get colder than 0°Kelvin. Not anywhere. Never. It's like the ultimate temperature scale.
Whereas Fahrenheit and Celsius are invented temperature measurements. Fahrenheit more random than Celsius.
Fahrenheit was invented by some funny guy called "fahrenheit" who randomly took the temp on a cold winter day and said: This is zero. and tried to avoid negative temperature with that. Then he said "water freezes around 32° and body temp should be 96°" Pretty random.
Celsius was a little less random: He said 0 was where water freezes, 100 where it boils and the part inbetween is structured in 100 equal parts. There ya go. ;)

    Now what about 50°F? 50°F=+10°C=283.15°Kelvin
Did I help you with that? :D
