How many people here find some anime tends to be a bit ultra violent? Almost too violent? I would like to see exactly what the members think were some of the most violent that fall into the two categories of slash and smash.
For slash Ninja Scroll(oav) tops my list and smash has got the original Fist of the North Star.
    What choo tink?

i have noticed it, but i don't really mind it. It is sometimes overexagerated, but i suppose that's pretty normal.

Depends on the context of the anime.

There is actually quite a few different types of manga's out there that don't necessarily have such a great degree of violence.

I think it's more because people now days want more realism and younger kids can handle more adult themes. I mean, do you expect people now days to really beleive that a woman will never get raped and that some guy will intervene and all she'll merely do it be touched?

It may also have to do with the fact that the demand is for more violent themes. They may see that sales for the more violent manga's do better, and hence work upon that fact.

Devilman is definitely up there as one of the most violent anime's I've seen.

yeah, i agree with that. if something sells, then people will see that, and the distribtors will make more of it.
