Does the House of the Heavenly Arch even exist, and are you sure this came from the Silmarillion?

On second thought, never mind my previous questions.

Rubies, amethysts, sapphires, emeralds, chrysoprase, topaz, amber and opal, but the first 7 were all set into their shields, the opal was set into their helmets, and Egalmoth himself wore a cloak embroidered with crystal.

That answer was from a Guild friend of mine, Menelvagor of the Valar Guild, who is a Tolkien expert. And DON'T write that it's from the Silmarillion when it's from the Book of Lost Tales.

And now one that's actually from the Silmarillion... Don't worry, it's a lot easier.

What are all 3 names of each of the Two Trees, what was the color of their lights, which was the elder of the two, which mound did they grow on, and what was done to sprout them?
Bonus question: what was their time rotation (you know, whatever the name for the rotation of a clock)?

These questions were provided by the Most Venerable Menelvagor the Merciless, Befuddling Tolkien Inquisitor of the Highest Order and Valar Guild Maia. He is very pleased to have managed to ask LOTS of questions in one.

No, he isn't my alter ego. Yes, he really does exist, and yes, he really did come up with those questions. Just for the express purpose of torturing you. Isn't that kind of him?

And by the way, this isn't as hard as it looks.

I can answer most of these, but for the other names I'd have to consult the book.

The name of the Trees were Laurelin (Gold) and Telperion (Silver). The Trees were mounted upon Ezellohor (sp) and Telperion was the elder. Also, I believe they each shone for 6 hours, but im not quite sure.

Right so far. What was the process to grow them? And since you obiously know a lot about Tolkien, :) can you give me the other name for Ezellohar?

By the way, if you get stuck, you're allowed to use the book (in my/Ondolinde's question, anyway, it was a pretty long one), as long as Maximus Aralias doesn't care, and if you cannot remember it by the end of the second day.

Hmm, I think the trees may have come from the lamps Illuin and Ormal, now that I think about it, but im not sure. Oh, and the other name for Ezellohar is Corollaire, which means "Summer Mound."

Right on the mound, but you might want to check your book for what was done to make them grow.

Yes, she did "water the mound with her tears," but there's one other part... it's just as annoying when you're hovering on the edge of it but you can't get it! :)

It was annoying me no end that I couldnt remember it, so I consulted the book. Yavanna Kementari sang and danced, and two shoots sprung up from the mound. Nienna then watered Ezellohar with her tears, and the Two Trees Of Valinor were born.

It's Turin of course. And the word means Elf-Man, I would assume it was given to him because he was a man raised among elves.

The Isle Of Werewolves. Formely the Isle built by Finrod when he came to Middle-Earth. It was then captured by Sauron and renamed Tol-in-Gaurhoth.

Continuing on with Turin's question, what was the original name of Tol-in-Gaurhoth ?
