    Dear TFF Members:

In light of recent events, we found it was necessary to rewrite the signature rules and clarify them. Please take note of them, as some stuff we have "let slide" in the past will no longer be allowed to do so.

95% of the members here are responsible and we've had no problems with, but unfortunately there's that 5% that seem hell-bent on ruining it for everyone. So these rules will have little impact on most of you, because it is mainly for that 5% that this is written for.

    SIGNATURE SIZE
    1. 5 lines of text are allowed TOTAL. That means above, below or beside any banners you may have.
    2. All text may be no text bigger than font size 3.
    3. Blank lines count as lines of text.
    4. You can use up to 3 smilies in your sig. HOWEVER, a smilie alone on a line count as a line of text as set out in Rule #1. The smilies are from the board's selection of smilies, not your own.
    5. One (1) banner is allowed. Multiple images are not (excluding smilies). See Banner Rules below.
    6. If you want to use multiple images, use the graphics program of your choice to create a banner.
    7. A banner can be used in combination with the text Rule #1. Remember blank lines count!

    SIGNATURE CONTENT
    1. All signatures (including banner text) are to be in English.
    2. No slogans or quotes that are political in nature, or related in any way to what can be construed as hate groups (Naziism, anti-semitism, racism, etc.)
    3. Don't use your signature to provoke others. (This violation with be dealt with severely).
    4. Keep the message in good taste.
    5. Don't use your signature as a means to advertise goods for sale, or other websites.
    6. Absolutely no .html links or web addresses in your sig, regardless of whether it's in the text or as part of the banner.

    BANNER SIZE
    • Maximum banner size: 550 pixels x 175 pixels OR 100kb in size, WHICHEVER IS LESS.

    BANNER CONTENT
    • All text is to be in English.
    • No themes that are political in nature, or related in any way to what can be construed as hate groups (Naziism, anti-semitism, racism, etc.).
    • Keep the message in good taste. No overt sexuality or nudity.
    • The TFF staff reserves the right to give final judgement on the size, content and appropriateness of any member's banner.

    SIGNATURE VIOLATIONS

If you believe a member's signature is in direct violation of board rules, they can be reported anonymously by PMing the moderating staff, or by reporting the person's post. That does not necessarily mean that the signature will be removed -- but it means that it will be reviewed by staff for judgement.

If the signature is determined to be in violation of the rules, it will be removed. If it is reposted or if the same user continually violates the rules, their signature privileges will be revoked, temporarily or permanently depending on the severety of the offense. If it determined (in the opinion of the staff) that the signature violation was a direct attempt to provoke other members or staff, or to cause discord on the board, more severe penalties may be levied INCLUDING BEING BANNED FROM THE FORUM.

    QUESTIONS?

If you have a specific question regarding these rules, you can PM Nienor or myself. What will not be entertained will be complaints about how signature violations are handled, whether it's your signature in question or someone elses.

The TFF staff reserves the right to give final judgement on the size, content and appropriateness of any member's signature. Period. We don't want to hear "Well you've removed my signature but what about so-and-so's signature?". In the end, it's our opinion of "appropriateness" that matters, not yours, and this isn't trial by jury. If you can't live with the rules here, then the exit is the first door on the left.

In the end the best way to avoid any issues is to give some forethought before you post your signature. This is a board with a diverse age and cultural makeup. It's supposed to be "fun". So let's try to keep the fighting and backbiting to a minimum before the signature feature gets turned off for good.

    Thanks,

    Skyanide
