I think they should do one of the more famous stories like Beren and Luthien.
Maybe some of the individual tales would be great films--like beren and luthien--or Turin Turuambar. I would definitely go for that.
that would be cool but I would not make to much sense to people who havent read the book if the just do one of the stories like from the middle of the book there would have to be like a twenty minute proluge but the probly could make a good 2 and a half hour movie on one of the longer stories
I don't know what to say ... becouse I'm not shure it would be good or bad.. It all depends of the director and I would like it to be P.J.. I'm shure he knows what he's doing, and it would be grate.. but silm is too long for a single movie.. maybe they should do it in sequals...
i don't know if it is a good idea.. Silm is a complicated story to do on film...
The Silmarillion is about as complicated, diverse, and varied as the Bible. Though it is not nearly as long, it would still require the isolation of a particular story for a movie.
I agree that the tale of Beren and Lúthien would work well, but it would be difficult to explain the importance of the Silmaril. Some set-up or a "prologue" might be needed.
make it into short stories in a like 10 hour movie
I reckon they could do one movie for, say, the tale of Turin or whatever it is actually called, one about Gondolin (that's a city with history!) etc.
My pick would be a movie about the Akallabeth - the fall of Numenor - inventing characters and subplots (Mumenorians mingling with lesser men and being corrupted) with Valandil (is that Elendil's father's name, memory goes downhill once you reach fifteen ) Elendil, Isildur, Anarion and Ar-Pharazon as main characters. It would include the 'capture' of Sauron and culminate with the founding of the Twin Kingdoms. Perhaps I could find a way to use the 'Eowyn's dream' sequence from ROTKEE somehow...
It's a dream, alright?
i think we all know about Gondolin! so dont try to teach me something buddy
Amandil is actually the name of Elendil's father. Valandil is the son of Isildur.
get it right or dont say it at all
Ease up Celtic_Ranger, we all make mistakes...
Yeah really, as Elan Morin Tendronai said, we all make mistakes.
Calm down, I don't think you have the right to lecture anyone about getting things right or wrong, your punctuation and grammer is wrong in many a place.
ok im sorry for being rude be i cant help that i cant spell
I didn't try to teach anyone anything about Gondolin did I? I was just saying some pretty coll stuff had happened to it *confused*
And sorry for getting Amandil and Valandil mixed up...
I didn't mean to act like that I cared if you got them mixed up, I just wanted to "set the thread straight", per sa.
geez ease up Celtic_ranger
Yes, definately, I have read the Silmarillion Several times, and it would be the best movie I had ever watched. (Most likely)
yea, but it is too long to be a movie my fellow
