what do you think
No! I don't look good in stripes.
It kind of is when illegal acts are considered negligent or when somebody doesn't know a law. Still fining a person or incarcerating them for being a dummy doesn't seem too productive. Maybe require them to take like elementary law classes or have psychological reviews in case they really shouldn't be doing something that could go horribly tragic.
nah these day they dress like that:
That's not so bad then, I don't mind the casual look but I'm keeping my top on.
Lord Yuan it would certainly liven up court cases.
well if they do something illegal, sure thing... but If say, In a shop dude has problems grasping why should he give me money back, if I bought beer for 4 chf ...and brought empty bottles... worth 4.20... I mean what to do with those?
If it were everyone would be in jail. Everyone, no matter how intelligent, does stupid things on occasion and that's BEFORE you get to those that are either geniuses or near geniuses but have absolutely zero common sense.
we are talking about consistent stupidity, not occasional stupid things
Then they should be helped. I'm not saying stupid people are mentally ill, but it can be compared to that, no offence to the stupid lol. There's something lacking in the brain, something wrong... Whatever you want to call it. You can't put mentally ill in prison for their condition, it's not their fault.
Technically they can and do - only its more a medical prison than actual prison, and this is generally only after they are proven to be a danger to themselves and/or society at large. Most times people are not proactivly put into medial asylum just because of their condition itself or their intelligence (like I said they normally have to display an inability to function at a safe level before action is taken).
Also remember that "stupidity" is a very complex term. Many times people are quite capable of being stupid in many areas not because they lack the mental capacity, but more because of ignorance of the facts. Then you've people who might be utter dunces in some subjects, but exceed the average capacity in others (there are many examples of strongly autistic people who are outstanding artists - heck Einstein was a genius in his field whilst also suffering from more severe difficulties in others).
There is also the important point that not everyone learns the same way; a student with poor teachers or in a teaching system that lax flexibility might well come out with low grades and a poor education because they were never taught the right way for the information to become understandable to them. Or you've people who develop at different rates - people who go through school with low grades and only shine academically at a latter stage in life.
Then we've the fact that not all of life is theoretical and book understandings. I know many people who did not get high grades, but who are otherwise quite "smart" and skilled with their hands or in sports.
those should be slapped
Stupidity should be illegal. I cant stand stupid people lol XP but Ive done many stupid things in my life. Things I'm not proud of, things that would have landed my in jail. I'm not going to get into it other than to say Ive been caught more than once and somehow got away, but I've been very lucky. Still pure stupidity for no reason... Just put them down haha.
Mind you, if you did that... Half of america would. ... (joke)
all of Austria according to germans and swiss
All in all... There's of course a difference between stupidity and ignorance and depending on the situation you just have to act different on the guilty one of these two acts. There's a good reason often to punish the ignorant, but not often the stupid.
If stupidity was illegal, then we'd have no politicians...... So I say, yes!
^ good point!
