You're probably better fed than mass-farmed pigs.
I bet they don't get beer...
Kobe Beef is made from cows fed with sake and beer.
you start to sound scary... plz don't eat me
That's actually not true.
Keep in mind, most of what is called Kobe beef outside of Japan is not Kobe beef. ACTUAL Kobe beef from Japan is in incredibly limited supply. I would assume the real stuff is actually fed on Sake and Beer, along with real food.
But it isn't lol. It may have been tried before but it has never been common practice to give tajima cattle alcohol. People just got that story into their heads and ran with it lol.
Got a source on that? Wikipedia and all the other descriptions I've found claim that "some" Wagyu Cows used in Kobe Beef are fed beer and/or sake for part of their life.
Yeah cos wikipedia is a reliable source. Lol.
A tv doco about food exports actually not that long ago interviewed japanese tajima breeders (wagyu just means japanese cow)and they said they have never fed their livestock alcohol nor know of anyone that has. Also they don't export true tajima meat. So unless they lied I'd be more inclined to believe that. I know some cattle breeds have been fed alcohol before. It has even been done here, but as far as the doco I watched said it isn't common practice.
