Hugs to everyone who posted in this thread. If I could, I'd make it so that would fix everything.... :(

Speaking of self harm, I caught up with a friend I haven't seen in ages today who said she was looking for a new housemate. I was like oh did that other girl move out? Nope. Turned out she committed suicide. That was awkward. Then she offered me her old bed.

I have, quite recently. It started as a serious promise to a friend who did it (If she did it, then so would i). It worked for a while, she didnt like to see me doing it because of her pain. Insult it all you like, but ill do almost anything to help my friends, even if it means putting myself out a bit. Then things got really bad, and it just kinda carried on.

Reece, why would any one insult you for that?

Maybe they think it's silly to harm yourself to get someone else to stop harming themselves. I'm gonna guess that unless you knew both Reece and his friend on a personal level, you can't really say if it's okay or not. If he thinks it is then it probably is.

Good grief! That's it... I'm starting a hugs thread in spam! Anybody who's having a rough go of it can stop by if they want and get a "hug" from other TFFers who've been there. It won't fix your life but sometimes I think it helps just to know that somebody cares when you're down and out.

Eating a pancake wrapped around a sausage probably is some kind of self-harm.

there is a difference though in reece's cause of people thinking it is right and telling him to do it to help his firend or not to and insulting him for it; to me insulting him would be completly out of line.

The only thing I could've done better on was reinforcing my position that the act of self-harm is selfish and self-centered...

No, it's factual. If you can go so far as to harm yourself when there are others who would prefer you not to, you are selfish. You are not only harming yourself, but others. Thanks for your opinion =D

No, Because if you go as far as to harm your OWN body, when others dont know, then how is it selfish?

Because you are harming what others would want you not to. Please don't tell me you're so dissociated as to think that "It don't hurt nobody but me". Please... Talk to someone who is on the other side, knowing someone they care about hurts themselves. Cutting yourself is usually an act of perverse 'release' and is entirely selfish. Get mad if you want, but it's a blatant fact. Same with suicide. Selfishness.

Lol wow, what a wonderful thing to hide it under. Sure, and if nobody finds out about a cocaine habit it won't hurt anybody else. Great logic.
