Those are the only pics that I saw of it on the DVD. But it is obviously amazing. It looks better if you pull it up on your own TV and have a peek. Please make this sword UC!!

No matter how cool it looks, I'm sorry to say that it is doubful we will make a sword that was not even in the films when there are so many that were in the films that people would like to own. To the best of my knowledge these scenes were actually re-shot not to include the sword in FOTR. He did have a dagger but it was not used either. From what I have been told Sauron does not appear in physical form in ROTK so the sword will likely never be seen.

I found it on the dvd! I was right about it being on disc 1.
It's about 9 1/2 minutes into From Book To Script.

    Found it...

Well, the sword is nearer to the camera now compared to those posing pictures earlier, but the sparring scene is absolute crap from a screencap point-of-view.

This is what I got, after brightening and sharpening the pics a LOT!
About all I can make out is that the blade seems to have a single fuller, extending out to about 60-70% of the blade, it also has some sort of bronze or golden guard.

I'm kind of partial to the decisions of the production team too.

Sauron and the orcs aren't supposed to wield longswords and two-hand swords, that's kind of reserved for humans and elves.

The dark people are kind of restricted to scimitars, falchions, maces, warhammers and clubs; it fits the rough, evil persona to use maiming and mauling weapons.

Morgoth wielded Grond, the mighty warhammer of the underworld; I think Sauron's mace is a perfect descendant to it.

Well none of us have seen RotK yet so how do we know that there may not be another flashback to the War of the Last Alliance.

Hey, what if The Mouth of Sauron ended up with that sword?
He has to have some kind of weapon.

He's a diplomat and an aide to Sauron. For some reason I think it would be counterproductive for a negotiator to come with a two-handed sword on his back.

    But hey, here's hoping. :)

Does it say in the books what his weapon is?

No he never draws a sword.
He approaches Aragorn and Gandalf, talks smugly and arrogantly for a while about Sauron's superiority, gets comments from Gandalf that he smells bad and should go back to his master, then promptly leaves, a bit grumpy.
I don't think it's clear what happens to him later.
Either he got taken prisoner or managed to flee, I doubt he'd have the guts to face Gondorian steel being the kind of guy he is.

Bummer. But thanks for the news Kit. The other sword that I wanted to see made was the Balrog sword.

There are pics of it on the DVD. I am not talking about a massive sword made of flame as some suggested before, but about the one that is on the appendices DVD. That looks pretty cool. Sort of a more bad-assed version of the uruk scimitar.

You still have to expect him to have a weapon though.
Even little background people have weapons. He will surely have something in a scabbard at least.
The illustration attached was done by John Howe.

Well technically it's a falchion. And a damn fine one at that.

You'd have to rent a trailer to be able to move that thing around, though. Hm.

Here it is, as it were.
Very close to the end-product, but the movie-pic shows some more details, that nice lump where the grip and the blade meet. It's present here but not as articulate.
