In the movie it only showed him with a mace.
I caught a glimpse of the sword on the EE appendices.
Unfortunately I could not make out any details.

Has anyone else seen it or have a picture of it?

I have seen the picture. As to whether UC will make it, it all depends on if he comes out with it in The Return of the King.

I doubt it would be in the movie because he would need to be in physical form to use it. And he cannot be in that form without the ring, right?

Maybe it will end up on a gallery in one of the other extended dvd's. It looked similar to a ringwraith sword from what I could tell.

It's all so stupid, Sauron had taken solid form in the "The Hobbit" book already, he was camped out in Mirkwood.
He had solid shape in all three LOTR-books, sat on a throne in the highest tower of Barad-Dur and looked out.
The big flaming eye was just a metaphor, his spiritual symbol for always gazing and searching the world, not like that stupid alien thing in TTT...

The "he has no solid form" was just a trick to let Saruman get more screentime and look bigger and badder than he did in the book.

Where in the Extended Edition appendices can Sauron's sword be found??? This sounds very interesting.
I have the DVD's, I could do a screengrab if I found it.

    Sauron and his physical form

I've gotta agree with you, because even Gollum stated that he had seen the "four fingered" hand of Sauron in Barad Dur, and that his skin was black and burning hot...So to see Sauron standing at the Morannon ready to whomp *#@ really, really wouldn't bother me one bit...

Plus Pippin SEES Sauron in the Palantir. Not an eye. Something tells me there will be a shot in ROTK above Baradur and the eye is no longer there...

Sadly, they'll be able to pull that off with Pippin just staring AT the Palantir, with an eye in it, and a dark voice.
No one will complain except some of us fans.

Then in the end, when the ring gets burnt up, they'll just show that damn eye crackling and exploding or fading away, coupled with some cheesy "NOOOOO!!!!"-reply.
I am really NOT looking forward to that moment.

I'd really like to see this sword, as well. Observer? :) I guess I should just get the DVD's out and have a look. I'd buy the sword, for sure, though.

If you could tell me where in the Extra Material the sword shows up, I'd be happy to do a screengrab.

It's in Part One: From Book to Vision.
Then go to designing and building middle-earth.
I saw it somewhere in that section.
You can also barely see it in a few pictures in page 8 of his gallery in the design galleries.

I found it on Page 8, I put some pics together.
Where do you think you saw it other than that?
Was it on the swordtable, when Richard Taylor picks up and shows some swords?
Or in a real action photo, in the field?

I saw someone suited up as Sauron on a set outside swinging it around.

I looked through the "WETA Workshop" clip three times, the "Designing clothes" clip two times, no swinging Sauron.
Only some guy in gym pants swinging the Ranger Sword around a bit on some parking lot.

I now have five pictures pasted into one of the sauron sword, ready for posting. 84kb.
I do not have any web server space available, can I mail it to anyone here and that person can post the picture? Or ICQ it, if you're feeling paranoid? ;-)

I looked too. It appears that I saw that clip somewhere else on the discs. I'll let you know if I find it.

Good job Arnkell!!! From what I can see, I'm into it. It would be a great, and obvious, addition to the Sauron Collection.

I also saw him fighting with it. He was fighting with either a Numenorean or a Gondorien.
