Aegis paused in his spellcasting to survey the progress of the battle. The enemies numbers were severely diminished and everyone seemed to be holding their ground. It's time, he thought to himself. As Airelot approached, Aegis motioned for him to come near. "I need you to accompany me, our friends are faring well they can spare us, especially with the return of Aenarion, he is a fine warrior." The young elf silently nodded his consent and Aegis began his spell casting yet again. From this close he could feel Zaad's presence, and it would not be difficult for the skilled mage to walk the paths of magic to confront the tyrant. The air around the two elves shimmered and swirled briefly, and when everything stopped spinning they found themselves in a large corridor insode the fortress. Except for the distant sounds of the battle raging outside, the corridor was relatively quiet. Aegis gestured for his companion to follow and they made their way down the hall to a large set of doors. Aegis could feel the magical presence more strongly here and he was certain that Zaad stood behind the doors. Some distance down the hall the sound of armored footsteps could be heard approaching. Aegis glanced over to his companion. "Deal with them my friend, and return to me, I may need you before this is over." As Airelot sprinted off Aegis turned his attention back to the doors. Reaching into one of his many pockets he removed a handful of small glass beads. Pushing the door open, Aegis saw the towering form of his foe standing at the far end of the large chamber, observing the battle from a high balcony. Aegis realized that Zaad felt his presence as the beast began to turn towards him. Acting quickly, Aegis muttered a word of command and hurled the glass beads onto the floor between the two foes. As the beads rolled across the stone floor, they began to swell, twisting and turning in unnatural motions. As they neared Zaad's feet they began to unfold into large spiders. Over waist high to Aegis, the spiders were devestatingly fast and weilded and venomous bite. Zaad howled as scores of the savage spiders began swarming over him. Aegis wondered briefly how long his magical pets would keep the Demon/mage entertained . . . not very long he decided.
