Aegis began casting yet another spell as Zaad's minions poured out of the fortress. He worked his fingers in intricate motions as the words flowed from his mouth, the language of magic that had not been heard on Elysium for many thousands of years sounded like glass breaking. The blue robed wizard's voice reverberated through the air like the thunder of a massive storm until finally the spell reached it's climax. Aegis opened his eyes as the ground began to rumble in the field between him and the fortress. Suddenly the earth erupted, exploding into the air the entire width of the field and rolling back in waves toward the fortress. Zaad's minions were hurled into the air, hundreds at a time, then falling hundreds of feet to their deaths.

As soon as the first spell was cast, while the ground was still erupting in a violent torret, Aegis began yet another powerful spell, one that had been forgotten since the mage wars. As he cast the sky grew dark and many dangerous clouds converged over the field. Aegis sagged as the spell concluded and thousands of bolts of lightning burst from the sky, raining death on those left alive on the field, and many still cowering inside the walls of the fortress.

Aegis sagged further and fell to the ground spent from the casting of three immensly powerful spells in so short a time. He reached into the folds of his cloak and pulled forth his pendant. Calling the hounds forth from their astral home he gazed out into the ruined field, littered with the bodies of the dead and dying. Still there were some left alive, and more still came through the massive iron gates. "Go now my friends, finish what I have started." He commanded the hounds, and the bounded away, snarling and ripping the flesh of any foe who came near. Aegis glanced to the trees where his companions waited. "Your time has come as well." He said as he motioned for them to take the field.

Botanicus's boars are torn to shreds before causing a casualty. In his naivety, he thought that mere forest creatures would be enough. Approached by a stray demon, an axe swings dangerously close to his face. The creature chuckles, taking another swing and cutting Botanicus's chest. The dryads eyes widen, as he casts his head back, surprised by the pain. When his vision clears, three mounds of flowers are in front of him, and his fingers, now cruel thorns, are edged with blood "I...killed?" He puts his hands together, drawing on the purity of his soul, sending a blast of white light around him.

Standing her ground while Aegis carried out his magical spells, Aislinn got a fairly good view of the action. Fortunately for her and the others, the mage's spells decimated half of the creatures belching from Zaad's keep. Once she got the signal, Aislinn let loose an arrow at the giant spider she was aiming at earlier. One shot from her bow, made the creature burst into flames, catching another monster nearby on fire too. She made several more arrows fly, each hitting a monster squarely, causing them to set afire.

While shooting at monsters a slight distance away, Aislinn failed to notice a small demon come near. She reached quickly for her sword, but before she could strike, strange thorn like projections had emitted from Botanicus. The large thorns immediately pierced the demons' chest, causing it to collapse to the ground in a pile of flowers. For a long moment, the elf stared in shock. Botanicus didn't really need that axe. Attempting to turn her attention back towards the monsters, she was temporarily blinded by a flash of white light. Luckily, she recovered from that much faster than any nearby monsters, enabling Aislinn to quickly strike each of them with her sword.

Lumbering in the distance, a dragon stalked out of Zaad's fortress. Aislinn's elven sight saw it far in the distance, she raised her bow and aimed an arrow, hoping to dispatch it in flames quickly. Yet, when the arrow struck, it merely bounced off the dragon's armor. Staring in wide eyed shock, the elf was at a loss.

Botanicus looks to the dragon, and bows his head "It is a shame to destroy such a creature...but..." The white light archs back into his hand forming a whip. He swings it forwards- it stretches a huge distance, striking the foot of the creature, and passing straight through it. Although no mark appears on the flesh the monster is now in some pain.

Dragging himself into a sitting position on a fallen log, Aegis looked out onto the battlefield. His companions were faring well, and his spells had done an excellant job of evening up the odds. Realizing that there were yet more creatures pouring from the fortress, including a large dragon, Aegis decided that his companions would need more of his magic to win.

Reaching into one of his pouches Aegis produced one of his many elixers. He'd never been much of an alchemist, but having friends among the clerics had proven useful. Popping the sealed cork off of the vial, Aegis downed the reddish liquid. It had an awful taste and burnt like fire going down, but he could already feel his energy returning. Struggling to a standing position Aegis gave the elixer a few moments to do it's job before he returned to the fray.

Lorek had been ready in his stance. While this was all going on, a reptile had surfaced from the ground, "A burrowing reptilian," is what Luiron called it.

The creature was two huts tall and one hut long, it walked on two legs and had an enourmous mouth with sharp teeth. Its arms were just as long as its legs and it was dark red. Atop it rode Lurion, holding his demonic looking scimitar high. "To chaos! To destroying the demons!!" At this many smaller reptiles emerged from the skys and oceans. Some slithered, some crawled, Lurion had his own reptile army!!

Zept found Aegis, "I won't be seeing you ever again mage, so take this and use it" Zept threw the stone to Aegis then nodded and ran off. He killed many reptiles and demons on his way to fortress. As Zept arrived near Lurion he spit at the lizard man befor ehe spoke, "Your lucky lizard, I won't be killing you after all" an evil smirk came across Zepts face as he ran forward, his blad ein hand.

Zept looked at the dragon, "Hey you come on and fight me! I can't die!" The dragon turned its attention to Zept who smiled as he was engilfed in white light. The dragon flew down towards Zept and opened its massive mouth letting loose a turret of flame, then another and another. Zept leapt to his left and as the dragon got closer he leapt upon it and readied his blade. The dragon shook trying to get Zept off him, but the dark and holy being stayed on without even breaking a sweat. Zept roared aloud and powered his rings and unleashed all his rage at once, he drove his blade deep into the dragon's back and tore open a hole. Zept forced his way into the beast and started to cut away at it's insides.

The dragon spiraled towards the ground and landed upon ten lesser demons as it hit. All the heroes wondered what had happened as he fell, but soon realised it was Zept when he emerged from the beasts left eye. Zept leapt to the ground cutting down a demon as he landed, he then regained his composer and ran towards the fortress, he would take on Zaad himself, and anything Zaad had to throw at him.

Lurion smiled, "The sooner hes gone the sooner we win." He made his large reptilian walk forward, around him were hundreds of reptiles. Even some that were 60 feet long came from the ocean around the island to help their master.

Lorek was riding a smaller creature then the one lurion rode, but it flew. It was 20 feet tall and 40 feet long, but its wingspan was a good 80 feet. It was a dark dark green reptilian with a long neck and its head was very oval shaped. It had thousands of sharp teeth manifested inside of its mouth. And it had a long tail with many spikes coming out of it....thank god it could breath fire.....

He used it to fly above the demons heads and cast them into flame, while lurions creature just stomped on most demons and ripped them apart with its large jaws.

Grey bloodless lips and sharp teeth formed a sneering smile as Zaad looked all those miles away at the battlfield, his minions were making a nice destraction, a score of Demon champions surrounds Zaad and he looked at the ground.

"Here, this is where it fell" He said, holding a hand over the spot, earth flew aside liek sand in a great wind, slowly it drained a wide shaft from the earth, below lay the tunnel where the khattar beast fell. Half the champions jumped down followed by Zaad moving with the powers of magic and the rest.

He strode up and down looking, with one hand he dusted away some dirt and found a greenish stone with hints of blue in it. Picking it up in clawed hands Zaad bounced it in his palm. "Friendship of the trees, how quaint, let us go and greet our new 'friends'." Putting the stone away Zaad stode along the tunnels, making many narrow turns, seeking out what he could sense with the power of the greenish stone. After a short while the group came across a wall of vines blackong entrance into a huge room. Zaad stepped forward, the vines parted where he stood, the green stone held its power even when the one who held it was one as dark as this. A few of the champions stepped forward, but suddenly were consumed by poisonous barbed vine and rotted into mulch to feed the flowers. Zaad walked on alone, leaving the rest of the champions to wait.

The room stood so tall the roof could not be seen at the centre stood a great tree, perfect in colour and shape, a few woodland beasts roamed aswell as animate plants, any of them no matter how fierce fled as Zadd strode up to the trunk of the mighty tree. Raising one clawed hand to touch the bark, almost caressing it

"Yggdrasil, father of all trees, nature incarnate in the one perfect form of the tree, strong mighty, and immortal." The sneering smile returned to those grey lips. "We shall have to see about that last one, hmmm? and test the others aswell". The hand against the bark pulled away, the claws coming together in a point, which thrust into the deep brown wood, green liquid course out, the lifeblood of nature. Black light eminated where the bark was pierced, the dark power of death and hate coursed into the tree.

The mighty tree began to wither, brown bark contorting and turning morbid grey, branches twisting where they did not fall, leaves falling dead to the ground. A great wind blew even inside the closed room, the leave rustling everywhere, every plant the died, every creature crawled over begging for breath. Nature was dying. The only sounds heard were the rustlign fo dead leaves, the wind sounding like a mourning wail, and the mad laughter of the demon as he took his hand from the bark. Letting out one long smile he caressed the dead bark again. "Dead? not yet, but close, close enough to feel. The father of trees, nature incarnate dying as inevitably as the sunrise, everywhere now nature fails, giving way to darkness, twisted creatures surface, poison and death comes across the whole world, the age of darkness has come, I shall bear it and nurture death and the age of chaos shall seem like the glory of light" He laughted another time " But not this tree, not yet, when every plant dies, when every piece of flora rots, and you are alone, then you shall die Yggdrasil, you will die alone among the death wrought by me" Stepping away Zaad fingered the greenish stone, which had now lost colour, turining murky grey and brown, he tossed it away where it shattered on the ground, stepping through where the vines had been he opened a gateway back to his tower, a smile on his face, constantly followed by mad laughter.

A harsh wind bearing the mourns of the world blew everywhere, trees rotten while they stood, other withered and died in seconds, grassy earth and farmes fields festered and died, bare earth and rancod remains were all that remained. Death had tounched the world in a scale none had known but the gods themselves. All the while the armies bearing the banners of Eieshar marched from the ruined city where their master had woken, children cried, men fled for their lives and the first strike of the destroyer changed the world forever.

Slowly making his way through the tunnel, Aenarion was so exhausted of energy, he had not moved a great distance from the khattar beast. Soon his eyes widened, as he felt a deathly presence, its aura radiating all that evil was. Moments later he felt the life of nature ebb a away slowly but constantly....Yggdrasil....nature's father....dying slowly....its essence fading....his own life force he knew would go once it died. Turning around, he hobbled back to Yggdrasil, only going a bit faster than before.

It was quite a while before he came upon the decaying form of Yggdrasil. making his way to the tree, he put foward a hand, and rested a palm on its trunk. Closing his eyes, he slowly spoke to the father of all being, a creature far older than even himself, "Father of being, the ever living soul of nature, grant me a favour, I know you suffer, but lend me power, rejuvinate me, let me avenge you...that I promise". He stood there for a while, trying to communicate with something he did not know how to. Yet after a time, he slowly felt, an energy flow through him, caressing and warm. Soon he found he could stand again, and felt as he was before the fight with the Khattar Beast. Bowing to the tree, he turned away, and spoke to himself the words he promised, this he intended, even if it cost him his life.

Botanicus stands still, and gasps. Raising his hands to his face, he begins to claw at his cheeks. Great gouts of black blood fall from him, as he tears at the flesh- yet it heals as fast as he can remove it. "No...no..." He turns towards the castle, his eyes narrowing, and swells. His arms lengthening, ending in cruel barbs- his 'spine' jutting from his back, forming spines. Rapidly, he becomes a monstere. He turns to the citadel, his eyes narrowing "No..."

When his mind clears again, there is so much more blood than he remembered.

As the great tree fell victem to Zaad's power Airelot stopped, a fool mistake as the demons found it easy to surround him. The young elf had heard stories about great heros of old in the time he could remember. Though nothing like this. A single tear rolled down his cheek as a demon strode towards him, blade raised to kill. the young elf felt a sensation unlike anything he'd felt before. Suddenly in a single motion he turned and removed the foes head, then another and another, until for a few feet not a demon stood. He raised Falling Moon in one hand and screamed a sound of such increadible rage and fury, and hate that many of the surrounding demon's stopped and stared for a moment. With thast cry, if they didn't know it before, all people in the land knew of the death of Yggdrasil. The young elf then turned to the nearest large horde and shouted a challenge, "I am Airelot Dackios Redmoon, come fight me!" The creatures would have obliged instantly but for the terrible look in his eyes, but this passed and the monsters charged, as the first fell Airelot came to a terrible realisation, he'd never felt more alive.

Zept felt it, he stopped and fell to his knees, tears fell down his face, but they soon turned to hate. Not hate for Zaad, or the Demons around him, but for himself, at that exact moment the Father-Tree died he knew the truth about himself and his origin. Demon, Angel, but more Demon, that explained it all to Zept. He rose and looked at the Demons, "Filth scum, no better then me" Zept roared in anger, something happened inside him, his inner Demon was surfacing.

Zepts eyes became a hellish red with a black glow. Blood poured from his head as he screamed and two long black horns appeared. He streched out his arms and two demonic wings spread from his back. His hands became more claw like and his blade became black and much longer and riggid. Zept recovered finaly and his eyes narrowed in hate, "Dark deception kills the light" he said in a deep demonic voice. Zept also noticed his skin had a black pattern all over his torso now, and his flesh became abit darker. He was much more bulky as well.

The Demon raised himself then readied his blade. The Demons thought he was one of them, until he started ripping them apart with his blade and hands.

As Aegis' strength returned to him he studied the battle to determine where he could be of the most use. Aislinn and the Dryad seemed to be working well together. He saw Airelot making a valiant charge into overwhelming odds and found himself admiring the young elf. Though he was proving to be a capable warrior, few if any could face those overwhelming odds unaided.

Aegis moved out onto the bloody field, several yards behind the young elven warrior. His first spell was a simple one and he completed it with a wave of his hand, casting a temporay shield over Airelot, one that would allow him to attack but most blows would land harmlessly, absorbed by the shield. Aegis smiled slightly as one abnormaly large creature landed a devestating blow on the warrior only to find it hand no effect.

Aegis began casting yet again, as he reached the climax of his spell he repeated the last word over and over, each time a bolt of fire soared from his finger tips, searing holes in the rapidly advancing enemies.

Aislinn watched as Botanicus changed into some monstrous creature. He rapidly killed any creature that came close to their spot. From their slightly high point, Aislinn could see the hordes of creatures below. She was glad for this location, it allowed her to shoot arrows at the approaching monsters and Botanicus seemed to take care of any that came too close.

She began to worry about the dryad. This change seemed odd, dyrads weren't supposed to be this vicious. The elf was concerned about what mischief Zaad was up to that made the dryad forget what he really was. Fearing that he might change permentantly into a monster, she tried to calm him. When he came back to being his usual self, she pointed to Botanicus's axe and said, "Try not to be a weapon yourself. Do what you need to in order to survive the battle, but don't forget who you are. If that happens, the battle inside will never stop raging. Use the axe to defend yourself only, then rid yourself of it when the war against this daemon is done."

Staring down into the midst of battle, Aislinn could see Airelot charging into the midst of creatures. Not wishing to see an elf fall, she was tempted to leave her somewhat safer location until she saw Aegis come up behind him. With the mage on his side, she was sure the other elf would be safe.

Botanicus turns, panting "He's dead, my lady...you felt it?" He nods "How could you not..." he looks at the axe, and picks it up awkwardly "Self-defence..."

Airelot felt the odd magic sensation fil his vains as the shield appeared, then watched the fire fly from Aegis, the young elf nodded thanks to the mage, then returned to the seemingly endless fight. Beast after beast came to him, Falling Moon served him well, but it's shaft eventually broke, refusing to let the weapon drop he bagn using each end as a separate weapon until the blades shattered upon the hides and plate protecting the enemies. Airelot then turned to the club accuired from Aegis's armory, killing sevreal more before the head separated from the shaft. Now the young elf had only a few choices left, drawing his falchion he fought on, trying to make the way to the fortress, Aegis giving support fire, along with Ailsinn further back, and Lorek and Lurion further to the side.

Zept's blade was gone long ago, shattered by many creatures, now he used his claws. He saw Airelot making his way to the fortess with only his falchion remaining, and he was fighting against an impossable number of odds. The Demonic warrior ran over to help his friend.

Zept surged mid air into the swarm sorrounding Airelot and tore with apart flesh with his claws. He was able to grab the blade of a Demon and use it as his own, it was a black jagged with razor sharp edges and ridges. Zept had come acustomed to the blade after tearing out the stomache and torso of a very large and powerful Demon. An evil smirk came across Zepts face as he used the blade in one hand to tear threw Demons and his other hand with the power of his Demonic stength and rings ot rip out the guts of Demons.

When Airelot saw Zept he thought he was an enemy until he saw Zepts devius smile and how he was killing Demons. "This is suicide Airelot, an honorable warrior like yourself doesn't deserve this death, go with Aegis to finish off Zaad, i'l clear you a path!" Zept shouted this as loud as he could as he killed more Demons.

It was quite while since Aenarion set of through the tunnel leaving the dying Yggdrasil behind him, but soon he came upon a liquid like screen. Deciding he might aswell take the risk he ran through and found himself looking upon a battlefield. Demonic hordes poured out a giant set of iron doors to a fortress. Amongst the seemingly endless hordes he saw the rest of the group. Fighting savagely against the greatly outnumbering hordes. Battlelust long forgotten took over him, he was a Demonslayer, and Demons were what he vanquished. Sworn to his Elven oath, he would uphold his promise.

"KHAINE CONSUME YOUR SOULS" Aenarion bellowed as he ran into the horde of Chaotic Demons. He fought each one with a furious vengeance, as he made straight for the great iron doors. Nothing would stop him, he had a promise to fulfill, and a duty to live up to. He was the grandson of Eltharion, first of the Demonslayers, greatest of all Elven Kin, he would not let his honour falter. For one last time before his end would come in slaying Eishar, he bit his thumb, and spread the blood over Sunfang. Immediately the Sword glowed with Black fire. The Sword of Khaine had no mercy, and now it hungered.
