As Dante begain to fly in the direction that Xan told him to go he started to think about how he was goin to tell Von Stragg what he as just learned without sounding like an idiot. He was practiceing when Xan showed up next to him on her broom

“Ha, don’t think you’re getting rid of me that easily. If you and your commander want to turn this damn world on its head that’s fine, but if you think you’re gonna succeed without my help you’re sadly mistaken, my friend. Trust me on that one.”

Dante gave a dark smirk at her statement, then gave her a double check as he saw her mode of transportation. “Standing?” He said with a raised eyebrow.

“Sitting, standing, my broom is versatile. But don’t think I’m gonna fall out or anything. My feet are magically clicked in until I say so.” To prove a point she did a loop in the air, returning back to his side. “Man… this is still going to be a long trip… mind if I play some music? Hey… you haven’t heard of an electric guitar haven’t you? Or metal or rock and roll. Oh, you’re sooooo in for a treat… YO BOOMBOX!” The stereo which huddled under her broom came to life at her voice command. “Ok, let’s start out light… Queen, We Will Rock You. Then some old Metallica, any song will do.”

Xan's broom started to play music, not anything Dante as ever heard but she called it music. At first it was just noise to him, but with each passing song it became more and more pleasant. After a few songs played Dante's head begain to hurt. Dante had to stop flying and just hover in place. Xan kinda flew past and then stoped after she noticed Dante did and flew back.

"Dante my servant, were are you?" Dante could hear his Commander calling in his head.

"What wrong" Xan ask after seeing the pain in Dante's face.

"Nothing now, its is over. My Commander is calling he only does this when he is in need of my help."

    "What did he say"

"Where are you, we must hurry he might be in trouble." After saying that he flew as fast as he could with Xan right behind him. He reached land and he could not see any of his fellow soilders. "The sun must be up" he thought to him self. He went to the first barn he could find and landed at the front door. He turned back into his normal form and took his staff off of his back and walked in. Xan got off her broom and followed Dante into the barn.

"If you insist on going with me you might one to stay close. Someone could think your dinner"

"I can handle myself thank you very much" Xan came back in a hurry. Dante stoped and turn around and looked at Xan.

"It not you im worried about, It my troops" Xan kinda stoped and chuckled at his remark and she did as he asked. Dante went to the center of the barn, looking all around. Then a vampire landed on the ground beside Dante and Xan and started to attack Xan and Dante moved in front of the other vampire.

"Stand down" Dante barked as the other vampire tried to move past.

"It is not wise to disturb me while i have dinner"

"And it is not wise to disobey a direct order from a superior officer Vladimere" Vladimere looked a little confused for a moment then snaped to attention

"Captain, Sir forgive me, i did not realize it was you"

    "As you were"

"Thank you Sir, So... to what do i owe the honor of your appearance?"

" I need to know where Von Stragg is, and i need to know now!"

"Yes Sir, i will take you to him"

"Good, Lets go" Dante said as he put his staff back on his back

"Yes Sir." They started walking towards the door and Dante and Vladimere were a little bit ahead of Xan. When they were just out of earshot of xan Vladimere went up to Dante and whispered

"Sir you should have let me kill her" by this time they were outside and Dante stoped and looked at his fellow vampire and replied

"She is an informant and she is not to be harmed, Besides it was you that i saved back there not her" by then Xan had caught up at got back on to her broom.

    "Ok take me to him"

"Yes Sir" Dante and Vladimere both turned into their flying forms and took off. Vladimere flew in front and Dante and Xan were about 10 feet back side by side.

    "So you a Captain huh?"

"Yes i am. and soon you will meet our commanding officer. I need you to show him what you showed me."

"umm i think i brought the equipment to show him i will have to see when we get there"

"Very well" It was about another 45 miles east and they started to come up to a rather large building guarded by soilders. Vladimere landed and then Xan and Dante followed.

"Sir he is in there" Vladimere said coming to attention.

"Thank you. that will be all." Vladimer flew off back in the direction they came from. Dante started to walk towards the guarded door.

"Halt. what is you buisness here?" the guards said

" I am here to see Von Stragg. now let me pass" The guards stood their ground

    "who is she"

"She is being escorted by a Captian it is not of your concern who she is now let me pass i must see Von Stragg at once" The guard moved aside and allowed them to pass. Dante went to the room he was told Von Stragg was and entered the room. Von Stragg turned around to see Dante and Xan enter the room. Dante went to attention

"Sir I got here as soon as i could"

Gah…. The flight was taking forever…. Even on a jet this would take at least 6 hours. Flying via broom/wings it takes even longer. With nothing but time to kill, Xan decided to read (something she doesn’t recommend in any air traffic), and brush up on some old but useful spells for battle: elemental (mostly electrical), increasing physical strength/speed, on-the-go defensive spells, circle spells… and one particular summoning spell she always wanted to try…. Just in case she needed someone watch her back.

Xan knew they should be seeing land soon when she sensed some sort of magic in the distance…. An old-school communications wave, and by the sort of dark energy surrounding it, it was obvious who was calling. Dante went silent as he answered his leader’s calling. Xan could have tapped the spell and listened in if she wanted to, but decided to give way to privacy and play it ignorant. After the spell was done, Dante politely updated her on what was going on and they slightly changed course to follow Stragg’s exact coordinates.

Sand…. Sand… Jungle…. CITY! o_O Besieged city. Well, if this Von Stragg guy didn’t know about guns and bombs before, he sure as heck knew about them now. Medium sized crater here, trail of bullet holes there, bodies everywhere, houses were still smoldering, man, woman, and child slaughtered by the wayside. There was still electrical power running throughout the city, but for how long? Xan felt like she swallowed a rock as her overpowered imagination pictured all of New York looking like this. This war might not just change all of civilization, it could slaughter it. And if these vampires had their way, it might be the middle ages all over again! No TV, no ridiculously large towers, no internet, no electricity… how many of her works of art would become obsolete? Xan would be out of a job!!! (Not to mention that a little less then half her connections/friends were mortal and would therefore be dead sucked the big one too). Hold it… divination was not Xan’s division. She knew it was dangerous to attempt to forecast the future. Baring that in mind, Xan decided she would meet the head man first. Who knows? Maybe Von Stragg’s a reasonable guy and would want to keep civilization (at least the technological part of it) in tact.

Dante at least was being quite the gentleman to Xan as they passed a few check points guarded by vampire military personnel. It was almost enough to make her blush…. Not that he was exaggerating about her blowing off a few heads if anyone thought she would make an easy meal. In any case, they were there. With a word, Xan hopped off her broom as Dante made a majestic landing, and they entered the Lord of Night’s newly conquered fort.

"Vincent." Jeff said in a choked up voice. "Listen to me. Don't ask any questions. Just run."

Vincent looked back at Jeff but he was already running at the demon round after round flying from his gun. No. Vincent thought. I won't leave. He unclipped two grenades from his belt. Pulling the pins from them he ran as fast as he could straight towards the summoned demon. The bombs flew from his hand both of them hitting the monster directly in the chest (or whatever you call a demons torso) of the demons. It let out a wail. But it didn't fall. It was weakened, but not dead. Vincent repeated the grenade attack, and he noticed that Jeff did the same. Maybe they could survive. Maybe there was hope. But he shoudn't be too happy yet. Even if they did slay the demon, there were some others left to kill.

The demons let at a blood-curling scream before falling, nearly on top of a injuried Jeff. Jeff nodded to Vincent. He knew what that meant. It was time to show were he got his nick-name from. Letting out a cry, the two S.P.A.D.E operatives ran at the mob of witchs, zombies, were-wolves and what not. With a new hope.

"Xander, i know you didn't want to leave there, but tonight we can-"

It was his General again "Shut up. I KNOW we had them."

This time, it was his general who got mad. "You know what?! I'm the general here! Stop your whinning!" He raised his hand to punch Xander, but Xander grabbed his hand first.

"Screw you! I can take the city myself!"

"How stupid are you! What don't you understand about war?! Its not just going in and killing everything you see. Sometimes you need at least a LITTLE strategy."

Xander stood up, his face right up to his generals. But suddenly from behind him, a witch; Zanael; Grabbed him from behind throwing him to the ground. And from there, a werewolve jumped on his back.

"You need to learn athority." His general then walked away, but not before he kicked a clump of dirt in Xanders face.

Xander tryed to break free, spating up curses, a trace of blood coming out the corner of his mouth.

There were two things Louis Darny hated, snakes and things that make rude obnoxious noises. The medusa thing in front of him, qualified for both. Louis fainted at it again with his machete. He had long run out of bullets since his arrival in the South Wall Slums, and so had his new partner, Maddie Young, who happened to be an exorcist.

"Louis!" Maddie yelled. "More wall crawlers to your left!"

Louis quickly eyed the wall while holding the mudusa thing back with his weapon. It was crawling with thin little creatures, ready to jump on him and over power them both.

"On the count of three, run!" Louis yelled to his partner. "One-"

"Three!" Maddie finished for him and shoved him down a side ally. They took off running and came to a dead end.

"Ok Ms. Young, you've got your assorted daemon hunting tools and I've got a machete, any ideas?"

"Not really, I've got some foxglove shells if you were planning on meeting a bloodletter daemon."

    "No, not really."

The end of the ally was blocked with wall crawlers while the medusa towered over them. As they closed in, they were suddenly soaked in gallons of liquid. Once the pour was over, both parties looked up in puzzlement.

    "Did a pipe break?"

Maddie shook her head "Louis, that doesnt smell like water."

A lone cigarette suddenly fell down, igniting all the creatures with the gasoline on them. The medusa survived and was bashing against a wall, but can came whirling down and finished it off. A small man jumped down after it and picked it up.

"Greatings my fellow citizens, Jon Tweed, chain smoker and smuggler extrodinare! Sorry about the gasoline, hope i didnt get any on you. Cant abide those things on my turf. Now, if you dont mind me asking, what the heck were those, and who the heck are you?"

Louis tried to find the words to explain. As of yet, New York City didnt know it was under attack by creatures from hell, but it was pretty pissed all the same. As far as the newspapers were concerned, it was a fine time for all these serial killers to appear, and they kept complaining about how NYPD couldnt catch them. In reality, the Inquisition had captured and killed a lot of them, and done a good job of hiding it, but there were always more monsters. All the zombies ate people, and NYC assumed the "Kanibal Killer" had struck again. Vampires all seemed like the same madman too.

"Well Mr. Tweed, there were um....monsters....yeah." Louis shrugged, it was the best he could do.

"Ok, I can accept that, I lived in California for a decade, nothing is scarier than that, now who are you?"

"We're working for the government" Maddie began "I'm Ms. Young and hes Mr. Darny, we were checking out the neiborhood for things like this and, well...we found them."

"Yeah, well, thats the slums for ya, now if you wouldnt mind, i need to leave and attend my stores."
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Inquisitor Lord Mathias looked at the room full of Inquisition officers.

"Alright gentlemen, to put it frankly, we are screwed. Attacks are being reported all over, the middle east is in chaos, america is losing ground, and I have no clue what in sams gates is happening in Africa. Now, most governments know whats going on, thier smart and havn't panicked the public yet, but the press isn't stupid. We've finally have evidence that may change all that. Proffeser Garner."

A tall gentlmen with a several scars on his cheeck stood up. "Thank you m'Lord, now, as you all no, the forces of the Abyss are not unified, and so they usally fail, but that may soon change. Powerful Daemons have been pulling together cult followings and armies of creatures best unamed, and we've gotten word of the first major attack being carried out. We dont know the powerful daemon behind it all, but we do know its followers that will carry it out. The attack will be on the French Capital of Paris, and the leading the hoards will be a group called the Seven Sins Incarnate. Lust, Greed, Sloth, you get the picture. We're sending soliders down as we speak, your assignment is to protect Paris, now get there and do your job!"

The assembly walked out in a murmur. Louis mused over this and turned to one of his friends, Frank.

"Well Frank, it would appear im going to get a little vaction to europe."

Jedrek came out of his room shutting the door to two women on his bed and the sound of rock music. He slipped on his black silk night-robe and walked down the deep dark stone hallway that was dimly lit by distantly spaced torches. He ran a hand through his short dark brown hair and took in a deep breath. He came upon a sealed door and entered a code in on a keypad that was set next to the door at about shoulder height. The door slid open.

Jedrek entered and the door closed behind him. It was a small, fairly dark room that was just about a foot wider than the doorway and it took Jedrek about ten steps to reach the end and sit down in the desk chair. A computer monitor built into the wall sat before him, and on either side were five security-camera monitors. He focused on the computer monitor in front of him and pressed a key on the keyboard. The computer screen turned on and then displayed the top of a man’s head.

The man on the screen looked up with his bony face. He fixed his glasses and frowned in speculation. “Oh, it’s you, forgive me my lord,” said the man noticing Jedrek.

Jedrek formed a little smirk on his face, “Any news?”

The man leaned back away from the screen in thought and began to shake his head. “No, not really. At least not anything ‘new.’” The man gave a short smile. “The sightings have not made much progress. I assume they are still running around like chickens with their heads cut off.”

Jedrek showed no expression. After all the years of being the First, he had perfected to contain his anger and rage. He perfected self-control. He put a hand to his head as he rested his elbow on the chair. “I need more information, Macon. I need to know their intentions and how many there are.”

“Yes, yes, I know.” The man said nodding his head. He kept his head down in thought. “Well,” Macon began.

“What is it?” Jedrek noticed the man’s nervousness.

“Well, it’s Lenin, my lord. They are sure of it.”

Jedrek’s eyes moved away from the screen in thought. “Thank you, Mac.” He pressed a button on his keyboard and the screen turned off. He turned his chair and grabbed a sleek black phone, dialed a number and put it to his ear.

It took a couple of rings before someone picked up. “Hey, Tranquility…I’m calling a gathering…yeah…everyone.” Jedrek hung up the phone and rubbed his eyes and then got up and walked out of the room.

Jedrek walked down the dark hallway and a woman appeared from an intersecting room behind him. “What’s wrong, Jedrek?”

Jedrek turned at the voice and replied, “Nothing, mother.” She looked like a middle-aged woman, when in reality, she was over four thousand years old. Jedrek could have been mistaken for a brother or husband by human standards, when he was, in fact, only about six hundred years younger than she. They were the oldest of their kind and two of five known ancients. But even after all the years of living, Jedrek could never lie to his mother without her detecting it. She raised an eyebrow at him. Jedrek sighed and walked toward her. He took up her hand and kissed it. “I will handle this.”

His mother smiled at him and put a hand to his cheek. “You are a stronger leader than your father could ever hope to be.” Jedrek looked into her eyes and gave a forced smile. Stay strong, my son. Never give up. For your kin. Jedrek heard his mother’s words in his mind, and looked into her eyes for a brief moment and gave her a kiss on her cheek. He then turned around and walked away into the darkness of the hallway with the tail of his robes trailing behind him.

Kane crouched behind the counter of the small grocery store. His heart was racing as he tryed to make sence of what was going on. The night had started out simple enough. Another night out dressed like some type of urban ninja, when he noticed more noise than usual coming from the old Korean grocery a few blocks from home. It was about an hour after closing time and the owner was still there so he figured routine robber, probably armed with a knife or at most a gun. So he went in, made a bit of an entrance, and basically shot his mouth off about how he was going to bring the robber to justice. Nothing beyond his usual showmanship, then he was hit with a curve ball.

The guy hadn't looked too impressive, but when he turned around his mouth was ringed with blood, and the old man who owned the shop was on the floor bleeding from him neck. Kane, being the newbie hero he was had done a little less than keep his cool. "Sweet mongolian monkey butt!" he'd shouted before he knew what he was saying. Well, it was too late to run away now, he had a looney on his hands, and he had to keep said looney from biting anyone else. And he'd always hated those vampire wannabe kids. The guy hadn't looked very big, so Kane figured he could take him hand to hand. Lunging at the psycho he soon learned he was very wrong. Like Kane was no more than fourty pounds the guy caught him, spun him around and threw him into one of the shelves.

Kane got to his feet, a little dazed, but he was alright. The guy wasn't going to let him recover though, Kane had to leap over his foe to avoid being torn open. He bounced around like this a few times before the guy got a hold of him. Kane threw a knee into his groin without thinking, he loosened his grip and Kane broke free, then made a mad dash all over before winding up hiding behind the counter. This guy was too fast and too strong to be human. Why should that suprise Kane, he wasn't a normal human anymore either. But no matter how mystically super charged he was, he still hadn't been prepaired to fight something like this.

If he was going to make it out of this alive he had to act fast. By now someone had probably called the 5-0, and he needed to be gone before the man got here. He drew one of his knives and listened carefully. The guy's shoes were loud, real loud. Kane could hear him moving, looking for him. He got right up to the counter, Kane could almost feel him, then he turned around and began to walk away. Kane had never used a knife on another human, but he knew he had no other choice. He flipped out from under the counter and lunged at the other guy, driving the blade deep into his side, the force behind his leap propelled his hand through the ribs and into the guy's heart. As if things hadn't been wierd enough, the guy's bodie almost instantly turned to ash, collapsing at Kane's feet. He could hear the sirens now, he didn't have time to check on the old man, he ran out the back and made his way back to the roof tops to flee the scene of whatever the hell had just gone down.

Men and women by the hundreds screamed on the top of their lungs. They cheered at the savagery the werewolves in the center of the warehouse had to display. Brown and gray furred werewolves bit, clawed, and ripped the flesh off of captured people and creatures both earthly and undead.

Roland, in his human form, was the only werewolf who stood on the sidelines that wasn’t joined in the approbation. He tilted his head down and gave a sinister smile. His mouth extended into a snout, his bones snapped and popped, his knees bent backwards and his feet grew to form claws. He landed standing on all fours as brown fur grew from his skin and gave a howl.

Roland quickly turned to the action in the center of the warehouse and charged after a fully-grown lion with a large red mane. The lion roared and began charging at Roland. Roland and the lion both jumped at each other. Roland knocked the lion, tackling it to the ground. The lion tried to regain it’s footing, when Roland clawed into its neck and shoulder. It roared in frustration and anger. Roland bit into its shoulder and the lion moaned in pain. The lion rolled over and with Roland still on top, it clawed at him. It got in a deep scratch across Roland’s chest. The werewolf leaped off the lion and bit its face. The lion cried out and desperately tried to push Roland off. Blood dripped down the lion’s snout. The lion then turned on its stomach and pulled free from Roland’s mouth, ripping off flesh and hide.

Roland landed on all fours and took a moment to marvel over the lion’s pain and struggling. The lion cried as it shook its head and tried to rub its face with its forepaw. Flesh and blood hung off of its face. Suddenly, Roland fell back and pounced on the lion, digging his claws into its side. The lion fell on its side and laid there as if it gave up to hold onto life. The werewolf roared and bit into the top of the lion’s neck as it gave its last cry. He took a few seconds to enjoy the blood streaming from its flesh before he pulled back and ripped it off. Roland looked down on his kill with blood dripping from the flesh that hung over his mouth then took in a deep breath and howled.

Jedrek--The First--stood behind the quieting crowd as it cleared a way for him to look upon Roland. He was dressed in a black leather vest, pants and armguards with his sword at his side, which hid underneath a long black cape. Tranquility, a woman werewolf, who had always fancied The First, stood behind him to his right and his mother to his left. Tranquility was dressed in a similar style that Jedrek was in, while his mother was dressed in a long white dress. The three strode toward the center of the warehouse. The earthly animals quieted down and backed away cautiously. The captured vampires snarled, and it was they who the werewolves only needed to hold down. There were no demons or ghosts among the arena’s prey because it was they who usually fly away. Nor were there any witches for they usually inflict the most damage among many young cursed werewolves.

The three walked passed the center and toward two dark thrown chairs. One thrown chair stood more erect and higher than the one to its right. Jedrek sat on the tallest while his mother took the shorter. Tranquility stood on the left of Jedrek with her head held high. Jedrek took a moment to survey the crowd and it’s victims. He then turned to Tranquility. She turned to look into his eyes. This was not the look that werewolves usually gave that would otherwise be a challenge; this was a look that spoke to her. Kill the Bloods!

Tranquility reached behind her back and pulled out a large pistol. Quickly, she aimed at each vampire’s head, and shot them, from the closest to furthest away from her. Their heads splattered with blood and the werewolves holding them, though trusting Tranquility, made sure they were clear from the bullets’ path.

After Tranquility’s last shot, she holstered the gun behind her again. “My brothers and sisters!” Jedrek began. “The Ancients of the vampires have returned. War is upon us. The night shall not be let up to these inferiors, but will remain ours!” The werewolves roared in agreement. “Hell has returned and been remade here on earth,” continued Jedrek, speaking over the quieting crowd. “But we will show them that a new Hell has been made during their absence!” The werewolves roared and howled again. Jedrek displayed his delight with a menacing grin.

Closer than von Stragg and his underlings could think possible, an old shaman sat. His gnarled feet seemed uneffected by the burning sands. His tribe had called him Abassi after the great god, and the powers of the creater coarsed through his weary veins.

He had sensed evil brewing a full year earlier, leaving his tribe to forge a nomadic existence. Here he had wandered around the mountains, communing with ancestral spirits. He had quickly found that no banishing spell would be able to rid the world of these incoming monsters, but after walking what we would call the 'spiritual back-alleys,' he heard tell of a great plague that could infect anything, from lycanthrope to vampire. Abassi was going to summon it.

The shaman wasn't stupid; he had forged many charms around a small cave to make himself and his spells undetectable. After meditating for a full six months, the shaman had awakened to find that the blood-drinkers had already reached African land. He hurried to make preparations.

The witchdoctor began by scattering a fine powder onto the floor- it glittered as he threw it, creating a spectrum in the air. Next, he drew various powerful symbols of the divine into this covering, and finally placed four totems as protection. The wise turtle, the swift eagle, the steadfast lion and the skulking desert fox.

Now Abassi began the summoning- the ritual was lengthy, as he sang and danced, but gradually the back wall of the cave began to shimmer. A doorway to nowhere and nowhen was appearing, and the witchdoctor was disturbed by the silence that seemed to fill the entire cavern.

Still he continued, creating the sacred symbols one after the other. Each had meaning, and in the right order each one was equally potent. The ibis. The river. The drought. The plague. And suddenly, something issued forth from the darkness- a voice, calculating and cruel. "Hello."

Abassi brought his staff forwards, carefully stirring the powder before him. The voice laughed. "Crocodile teeth. You hoped to contain me with ground crocodile teeth?" The few candles Abassi had placed fizzled out.

A lynx passing nearby stirred as a scream echoed across the plains. It had been considering whether to run from the undergrowth, when it's eyes abruptly changed to a brilliant red. If anyone had been nearby, they would have almost sworn they could hear the desert cat laughing.

Finally, the count they all have been waiting for. “My lord, I came as soon as I could.” Said Dante as he kneeled before his commander. Xan followed suit, and kneeled behind right of him.

“Good, there’s….” Stragg’s eyes landed on Xan as if first noticing her. He didn’t seem to like what he was seeing. “Another witch. Dante, who is this?”

“This is Xan, my lord, an informant from this time. Over a thousand years have passed and much has changed. Her information has been of value to me and may be to you as well.” Dante answered.

“I will consult with her later then.” Xan didn’t know if Stragg’s “consult” meant talk, or smash her skull in, but she DID know that he was giving her queue to leave. So, with another bow, she left Dante to speak with Stragg alone.

Now, what should she do to kill time?... Thanks to some jetlag, a red bull or a bed to crash on would be good right about now. Xan decided to take a tour of the place and see the extent of Stragg’s damage…. As well as send a few e-mails here and there via magiced out blackberry. As well as random destruction, there were zombies and a few vamps just about everywhere… probably waiting for Stragg’s next instructions. Ugh… zombies… great in movies, not so great in real life. There were even kids amongst their ranks! What kind of jerk purposely kills kids and makes them suffer longer as zombies!?! Even though her necromancy was lacking, Xan could easily set all of them to rest… but considering she wanted to get on the big vampire’s good side, she decided to swallow her disgust and let the zombies be… for now.

Speak about vampires… Xan noticed that one vamp in particular was following her in the distance as she played around on her palmed-sized computer. “Got a problem buddy?” she finally asked.

“Oh, not at all. I was simply getting a bit hungry when you passed my gaze.”

“Oh right! Of course! And an innocent chick like me could make it all the way to the center of this city crowded with hungry vamps and zombies because….?” Xan nearly laughed at her own sarcastic comment.

“I know very well that you’re a witch and under the protection of Dante… I just don’t care. You’re also human and from this world…. That gives me reason enough to kill you.” Xan couldn’t help but smile at the idea of a challenge.

“Hmmm… I can already tell that you are of lower rank and therefore weaker then Dante… Ha, I could probably kick your butt without my broom OR wand.” With that she pulled her wand out of her pocket and threw it to the ground to underline her seriousness. The vampire gave a dark smile and charged her without saying a single other word.

This guy was fast… faster then most half-vamps even! But that didn’t mean Xan couldn’t beat him. First, she pulled out her black-belt moves and for what seemed like a good ten minutes they were both locked in non-magical combat; passing blows to each other, dodging, kicking, and punching. But, unlike Xan, vamps could heal at a faster rate and were naturally stronger. As seconds slipped by, it started to look like Xan was wearing down… and the blows were definitely hitting her harder. Finally, Xan was cornered against a wall with the vampire’s hand around her neck. “And you thought you could defeat me without your little wand…”

Xan, bleeding and bruised, let out a chuckle. “Yeah, I didn’t say anything about not using magic though.” An evil smirk crossed her face as Xan reached up and placed her finger on his forehead and let out a large jolt of electricity to run through his body. Electricity was her main element; she didn’t even need to think of the words to control it. Within a few seconds, the vamp was on his back and smoking. “And I was holding back you a$$.” Xan said she kicked the guy in the side. “Just enough to activate every brain cell in your body, forcing you to have to have every thought, memory, and body movement possible all at the same time. Don’t worry, you’ll be fine in six… maybe seven hours? Oh, and after you can walk, I advise you to change your pants.” Xan said as she grabbed the wand and started twiddling around on her palm-computer again…. Hey, Frogger (Kane) had left her an e-mail! Goody!

Hm, looks like Kane had found out about the vamps and such and was asking Xan to see if she may or may not know anything about it. Xan left a brief message that that all hell has broken loose (almost literally) and gave the name and number of one of her SPADE friends who could probably fill him on the details. After that note was finished, Xan decided that she was too tired even for coffee, headed to the nearest unoccupied house, and fell asleep on the couch.

Ah…. What an odd day it was; and Xan had a feeling she was only seeing the tip of the iceberg.

Red Death was laughing. It was hard to tell from the mouth of his current wretched form, the lynx had already begun to play. It's initally red eyes were now an acidic sort of green, it's breath was rank and its fur had begun to fall off in clumps. Animal souls just didn't have the resiliance of humans when it came to the crunch, and Red Death now regretted striking down the stranger who had summoned him. Still, he was physically weak, and his body, already oozing and rancid, would not be missed.

The spirit of pestilence closed his eyes, trying to think back to what he had been doing in the abyss before his summoning. He was sure it was important, funnily enough, but couldn't quite place his finger on it. There had been a lot of blood.

The lynx's eyes closed as Red Death began to sense the fabric of reality around him for a promising 'thread.' He was suddenly surprised as to how many significant characters were nearby, nearly all corrupt. There was nothing better, he thought, than draining the essence of a soul that truly deserved it. Just Desserts were delicious. The lynx began to drool.

Amongst the evil and the damned, however, one thread he picked out took his fancy. It was female- female threads were always much more stubborn when sought. There was a spark to this force, of magic and electricity.

Red Death pondered killing the lynx that played his host for a moment, but changed his mind. It would collapse soon enough, and he needed some proper eyes to find what he did not yet know was Von Stragg's fortress. He sought a witch called Xan.

As the lynx bounded off, it left several blackened toes behind.

The small Igor like creature stood before Lenin Von Stragg, and behind it, Dante and Xan stood. Lenin had summoned them booth, and with them, his inslaved werewolf general Girath and his advisor, Tith.

"My servants," Lenin, Lord Stragg as he began to call himself, began.

"I have conqurered a large portion of this God-forsaken desert and found it lacking. The sun displeases me as does most everything about it. What I have infromatioin I have gotten from the poor souls who by freak chance were immune to necromancy has revealed that this land is known as Africa."

Lenin's gaze briefly landed on Xan, the "local" of this earth. She could probably tell him more then the wimpering corpses. He then looked at Dante. a few milliniums hadnt done much to change him, of course, vampires rarely aged. He would see whether one of his greatest servants still had the conqureing prowness that so many had displayed on European soil.

"Few armies have stood against me as of yet. The entire continent is consumed in civil war, with corruption ever present. My hoards roam the lands attacking villages as eating as they see fit, and this bores me. I have decided to march north, but before I do, I want to go myself and see the land of Europe, and If I can, discover any weaknesses they may have. Dante, you and the Witch will a company me. Tith, rule in my absence, and General Girath, take the Hell Hounds and march south, I want everything below us consumed in fire."

Tith nodded its hooded head and departed, while Girath slipped out to the creature cages. Before Lenin left, he half looked at his two remaining Servants.

"Prepare yourselves, my greatest enemy, the Daemon Wormwood will be present where we march, and the mortals with thier armies will appose us. Soon, one of the Great Evils will strike, and all the world will know that the Abyss has come"

Von Stragg left them and went out to his balcony. The city in what he now knew was Congo streached out before him. His empire included three countries now, of course all of them had been waring anyways. The Vampire Lord's attention was drawn out my barking. The southern plain was soon filled with hell hounds running to thier target. Yes, Lenin smiled, the time had come, and evil would soon rule.

Roland and four other men walked into a room that was connected to the warehouse. They all had blood upon the front of their torn shirts. Ahead of them stood Jedrek and Tranquility. To the darker corner of the room stood Jedrek’s mother whom only Jedrek and Roland knew her name. Alongside Jedrek, she was considered sacred amongst the pack. Her name was to be neither written, nor spoken.

Roland walked up to Jedrek with a short head bow. “My lord,” greeted Roland. Jedrek returned the head bow. “We have taken most of the city. We can expect those who have been bitten to turn within the next two days.”

Jedrek slowly turned to think. Then he faced Roland again and said, “If we can protect them for the time being before the humans perform a counter-attack we could have thousands more join us.” He put a fist to his mouth to think again. “When Inquisition and SPADE get involved, do not try to turn them. We must not risk destroying ourselves. Kill them on sight.”

“Yes, my lord.” Roland bowed, then turned and walked out of the room.

Tranquility looked at Jedrek as she walked up to him. Her slender body and young face could fool the unfortunate man, but Jedrek knew how strong she was. Although she was no match against Jedrek, she had never ceased to surprise him. He followed her exotic green eyes as she came around him. “The Inquisition will eventually decide to launch nuclear when we have infected so much. They will eventually decide that the sacrifice of even thousands of innocent people will suffice.”

Jedrek nodded. “I am well aware of the consequences. I have already told Mac to keep on top of any Inquisition, SPADE or military activity.”

“It could take months to take over all of Europe, they are sure to use bombs before then.”

“Yes, but our biggest concern is Lenin. If we can turn these people into one of us before Lenin does, then we have already won. But this battle is far from over. We will take losses…that is unavoidable.” Jedrek stared at her face for a moment, then turned and began to walk away.

Tranquility tried to work up the courage to say something. Something she had been trying to say to him for a long time. Finally, she took a step forward and said, “I love you.”

Jedrek stopped. He could hear the trembling in her voice. He turned back around and looked deep into her eyes. He knew that deep down inside of him he loved her. But he didn’t say it. He never did and he never could. It wasn’t that he feared her. He just feared to fall in love with her. He feared to fall in love, again. He didn’t want to lose her and go through the pain of her death. Instead of answering her, he turned back around and went into the other room.

Tranquility looked away as Jedrek slammed the door shut. Jedrek’s mother walked up to Tranquility with her hands together, relaxing in front of her. “Don’t worry about him. He still mourns her passing.”

Tranquility nodded as she tried to keep her tears from falling from her eyes. “He had given Kaia his heart, and it died with her.”

Jedrek’s mother saw her pain. “He loves you. Just give him time.”

Tranquility cleared her eyes and then looked back up. “But that’s just it. I fear that we don’t have much time left.” Tranquility paused. “This war could claim his life.”

When Kane awoke the next morning he'd gotten a responce to the e-mail he'd sent to Xan. She hadn't said much, but apparently that guy had been more than human. He read the name and numaber of someone from something Xan had called, SPADE. That was an interesting name considering everything that was apparently happening. He didn't have time to think much more about it, he had to get ready for school.

    later...

Kane had only had one class that day, and that gave him time for more leisurely activities. Namely, free running. He'd learned how to do all the free running tricks before becoming a totem, but since then his abilities were only bolstered. After about an hour of that he remembered the number when he reached one of the many abandoned roofs in the city. Pulling out his cell phone he made the call, not sure of what to expect.

    Hello?

    "Hi, is Dean there?"

Who is this? How did you get this number?

"My name is Kane Frost, Xan the tech witch told me to call you."

Xan? Alright, stay where you are, I'll send someone to pick you up.

"Wait, how are you gonna... Hello?"

Kane ended the call and sat down and waited to see whatever the hell he'd gotten himself into.

    Meanwhile, on some mountain....
"Uhhh...." Looks around There are gray rocks all around, some birds in the sly. All that can be heard is their chirping. The area is unmoving, nothing at all seems to be anywhere near. A thought flashes through my mind, (Ckerslan.) "Ckerslan...." I mutter as I walk toward the edge of the nearby cliff. Looks over the edge. There seem to be some structures unlike the rocks around here. (What could it be?) I start my trek down the edge to the structures.
As I do I begin to notice a strange sensation overcoming my body, it begins to burn and engulf me from the inside out.I start to speed down toward the structures faster and faster. Then I stop and look around, something is here! I spot some creature with four limbs, a light color, and some cloth climbing up the mountain. (Thats it! Thats what is doing this to me!) I rush over to the thing causing my pain, and start to flail at it. It starts to make noises as it gets ripped apart by the things on the ends of my hands.
There seems to be some strange knawling from inside of me at this point, and I start to devour the creature and as I do, the feeling of torment starts to reccede from me. Next thing I know the creature is gone, and I am heading down the mountain again. (What just happened? Where am I?)

Xan could swear that she just dropped off to sleep when a few official-looking vamps came into her impromptu home and told her that Lord Lenin Von Stragg has ordered her back to his hall…. How nice…. Xan hated to wake up…. She could have thrown something at them if she didn’t remember that she was not in America anymore.

As Xan entered again, Stragg and Dante were just finishing whatever conversation they had and when everyone was in place, Stragg started to give his big speech. "My servants, I have conquered a large portion of this God-forsaken desert and found it lacking…” As Lenin went on, Xan couldn’t help but get the mental image of the over-stereotypical evil lord of almost any epic-style movie, telling his minions where to go and announcing that soon he would rule the world. (MWHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!). ok… stereotyping was bad… and when her and Lenin finally talked one-on-one she would make sure to keep her trap shut and her mind open… but right now…. As she choked down her laughter, Xan made sure to pick up on anything of importance he may be saying. First thing she picked up was that he was going to take over South Africa: they were pretty civilized down there, and he may have more problems then he thinks. Secondly, he wanted to move the armies up north as well: if and when he did that, his army would brush up against the first major SPADE branch which was posted in Cairo, Egypt. Thirdly, and most importantly, him, Dante, and Xan were going on a little road trip to Europe to see how things were going there…. And they were leaving ASAP.

As Stragg finished his speech, Xan sidled up beside Dante and whispered. “Uuuuum… I kinda left my broom outside locked to the bike rack.”

Dante gave a dark smile. “You overestimate Stragg’s impatience. I think he will allow you to get what you need before we leave.” That’s all she wanted to know. Xan ran off with her backpack and went outside for her broom.

Dam bike lock… why the hell did she put so many protective spells on it???!? Oh yeah… so no one would steal her baby. As Xan continued to fiddle with the lock and her wand, she heard a set of footsteps walk up and stop directly behind her. With a quick glance, she recognized the vampire she BBQed only a few hours ago. Ugh.... she had no time for this! “Look buddy, what part of ‘holding back’ didn’t you get? Trust me, next time I take you, I’ll leave your corpse extra crisp…..” hold on a sec… Xan turned around slowly and gave a proper inspection of the vampire. Well, it was definitely the same guy she faced earlier… and yet at the same time, he was someone completely different. For one, his clothing has changed to a blood red colonial outfit (kinda nice looking). He also stood differently and the distantly amused expression on his face had more intelligence then what Xan saw on him before. And his eyes.... acid green... he definately didn't have those eyes before.

Xan could come up with only two logical conclusions. Either A: some smarta$$ but a love potion on this vamp and he was about to her ask her out or, more likely B:…. “Oh… hey, let me start over. Hi, I’m Xan. Is there anything I can help you with?” …. He was possessed.

(OOC: Yes POD, this is you)

In the blanket of night, a large white jetplane waited with its engines running as a white limousine pulled up nearby. John Peace stepped out from the limousine followed by David Harland who was dressed in a gray business suit. David straightened his coat and tie as he reached his full height. John turned to look at a man in a black suit and expensive sunglasses.

“Welcome, sir.” The man said handing John a clipboard of papers as the three began to walk toward the large jet-plane.

“How’s the search coming along?” John asked flipping through the papers.

“Not too well, sir. We are sending in tactical squads to investigate reports but have not received any information about the vampire lords.”

“Well,” David began, “We have to strengthen our search teams and find them before their forces become overwhelming.”

“Yes, sir. We have men working on it right now.”

“I hope so,” David said. The three men reached the stairs to the entrance of the plane. The man in sunglasses stayed at the bottom while David and John walked up. After they took a few steps up David turned around and said, “And take those sunglasses off, it’s night time for godsakes.” He continued to walk up the flight of stairs with John. “Looking a bit conspicuous,” he said to himself.

A half-bald man with glasses greeted John and David at the top with a nod and a handshake. “Welcome, Directors.” The inside was lined with red velvet walls and the black leather chairs faced inward. As the man escorted them toward the back of the plane he said, “There have been three more massacres in Northern Africa as of four o’clock this afternoon. We are trying to pin him by the direction of his movement but somehow the vampire lord continues to elude us. No significant news from Singapore, the same goes on; undead sightings and we still try to identify those under the influence of ‘evil’ forces. Same stands for New York.”

“Trying won’t make it happen, Daniel. You must do.” David remarked, beginning to get a little frustrated.

“Yes, sir,” said the man. “One last thing. There has been a massive werewolf incursion in Budapest that seemed to have begun last night.”

They walked to another section of the plane and met seven other people in suits, five men and one woman. They all stood from their chairs and greeted the Directors besides the woman who was already standing. John stopped a stewardess who walked passed him carrying a tray of wineglasses. “Tell the captain to take off.” The stewardess nodded and walked off.

John turned back to the people in suits and rubbed his hands together. “Well, let’s get this going, shall we?” Everyone took a seat and John sat down at what would have been the head of the table if there were a table between them. David sat to John’s right and the woman, who was John’s secretary, handed him a folder and a remote. “As you are most likely aware, there have been an increased number of sightings and unexplained massacres.” John pressed a button on the remote and the lights dimmed. A large table raised from the floor and a flat holographic image appeared on the opposite side of the room from where he sat. The holograph displayed pictures of mangled corpses. “We have found traces of molecular change near these sightings. We can only explain these changes as the remains of loopholes; a gate to another dimension or possibly a void. The massacres in Northern Africa is what we really want to pay most attention to.” David tossed his folder on the table and pressed another button on the remote. The holographic image displayed a map of Africa and red dots appeared on the map. “The red dots you see represent the massacre sights. If you notice, these dots move in one general direction, but do not give us a means as to this vampire’s location. We have sent in three fully-armed tactical teams around the possible areas where he could be heading toward.”

“Why don’t we send in a whole army to get this guy?” Asked a man to John’s left.

David moved forward in his chair and cleared his throat to answer for John. “Well, due to a study on a few of the dead bodies, we have found that some have undergone an abnormal amount of brain and body activity before the cause of death, or should I say, ‘after the cause of death?’ Some have even showed signs of mutation.” David paused to look at all the faces of the Board members. He then leaned toward the table and set his hands on top of it with his fingers entwined. “We are talking about zombies and demons here, people. If this bastard gets his hands on an army, we just gave the world to him on a silver platter. That’s why this guy needs to be found before he finds a major community. If he does, it’s gonna be hell on earth. I think I can say for everyone here that we don’t want that.”

“If that happens, what are we planning to do?” Asked another man to John’s left.

John took a short moment to look at the man. “We fight fire with fire.” John turned to the holograph and pressed the remote. The holograph displayed a close-up picture of a man with short dark brown hair, brown eyes looking over his shoulder. “His name is Jedrek Weylin. He’s what his fellow werewolves call the ‘First.’ It’s a term they use for the leader of a clan, or more plainly, the first of his werewolf bloodline. He has a mother, who we don’t have any data on, but only male werewolves can claim the right to clan leadership.” John paused. “It’s an alpha male thing.” John cleared his throat and continued. “This picture was taken two years ago in Bucharest, Romania when he was still number one on our most wanted list, but now we have a common enemy.”

“Excuse me, John” Cut in David. “But, I don’t believe even trying to come to terms with this guy is possible, let alone safe.”

John looked away from the man and turned back to the holograph as if he chose to ignore him. “Werewolves are invulnerable to the vampires ability to convert. They can take orders, but they are not controlled by the mind of the vampire like zombies and demons. Jedrek has the largest werewolf clan on the face of the planet, from almost every country at his command!” John paused once more and sighed. “Like I said, we have a common enemy with this guy…it’s time we talk some sense into these freaks.”

David sighed and shook his head. He didn’t approve of that idea.

As I landed at the bottom of the massive pile of rocks, a strong feeling went across me. It seemed to affect everything else, as all those green things were hanging in the same direction as the pressure was coming from. Then there was a rustling in one of the things of green stuyff. Out came some strange brown thing, it looked at me (I think) and then ran up a large pilliar-like object with green stuff on top and surrounding toe top to middle. There seemed to be many of those pilliars around. The ground, as I just notice at this point is green instead of grey. At this popint I notice those structures in the distance, the reason I came down herer in the first place, so I ran off to them.

The sun was blood red, its heat and glare oddly absent. The sky around it was dark with thousands of bats and the larger bone vultures. Below lay a feild, although you couldnt tell but for a small strip in the middle. To the west, six hundred thousand undead and evil minions yelled and screamed, hyping themsleves up. To the east, one-hundred thousand British, French, and Holy Roman soldiers stood stone still, waiting for the command.

Lord Stragg sat on his steed, viewing his armies before him. Although he would love to believe that all this was his, the fact that a Daemon stood to his left and another vampire Lord and Great Witch stood to his right stopped him. They were all allied at the moment, which was suprising. Lord Stragg had made many enimies, killing, slaying, enslaving and backstabbing to get the armies and power he had now. Of course, so had the other Lords of Chaos that stood beside him. And who upposed them? The mere mortal kings of the three leading nations and.....the Holy Brotherhood of the Way, a pitiful attempt to bring hope to the mortals through false religions.

The Great Witch raised her hands, the most potent magic user here had demed it the right moment to strike. Lord Stragg raises his hand, as did the others. Thier minions fell silent, and then erupeted in a one giant war cry. The great army surged foward like a hungry monster, and pounded the the upposing side. The kings raised thier swords, and twenty thousand arrows fell into the hoard, but it seemed to do next to nothing. The first line of the evil army consisted of several ten thousand hell hounds and skirmish deamons, but they were not expected to do much, just take the arrow fire. The mortals front line contained pike men, and Lenin Von Stragg was temped to flinch as the front of his army was impaled on the pike heads. The tempation was soon stooped as the bats and vultures decended from the sky and began to rip and tear at the mortals. The pikemen were also beaten back as the Flayed Ones, Lenin's personal addition to the hoard, and the minitaurs charged in. But the morals had thier own tricks. The British King had made a pact with the Eagles, and soon the bats and vultures were beaten back. Another nasty trick they had was a thundering charge from thier Knights. The Lord of Chaos looked at each other, the time had come, they would enter the battle.

Lord Stragg was pleased with himself, he didnt know about the other Lords, but so far he had slayed his far share of mortal meatbags. His broadsword rose and fell, sending blood flying everywhere, and the occasional flame arc shot from his hand. It also helped that his Vampire Lutinents rode beside him, destroying the weak. Finally Lenin's Gaze looked fell upon the King of France. He kicked his steed and charged forth, knocking the king from his saddle. Lenin dismounted, and strode fourth, killing three knights in the proccess. The king of France stood up, holding his bleeding side, he was brave, Lenin would give him that. The Vampire raised his sword to deliver the final blow, when suddenly the sky burst out in a tremedous blaze of light, and then, all goodness broke lose.

Lenin turned and staggered, to his left, stood the Daemon Wormwood, and before him, a monk of the Holy Brotherhood of the Way. St. Louis Lenin hissed in his mind. The Saint, it was just a false religion, what was he doing!? St. Louis was chanting something, and his words were heard all over the great feild, the burned and lashed out at all who were evil, Lenin couldnt take it. The sun's rays fell down, destroyin all the undead legions. Finally, a voice rang out above in a language Lenin didnt know, and then, the Abbyss opened up, and all things evil were banished.

Lenin rose his head. The priest was done reciting from the scroll, and as tradition called, Lenin drew his sword and killed him. He was ready, the cleansing had been finished, Von Stragg would now go to the cursed Europe once more. He strode out into the hall. He passed his fingers over his lips once, and then in a booming voice heard for several miles, he called forth Dante and Xan. It was time. Lenin flexed his arms, and wings sprouted from his back, as did a tale. The sun was setting, the journy would begin, Europe would fall.

Vincent and Jeff walked into S.P.A.D.E Head Quarters bruised and bloody. Thomas, a S.P.A.D.E Force General walked up to them. "Ah, glad to see you two back alive. Hey, weres Tony?"

Their faces turned black. "He, he didn't make it."

Thomas frowned. "Damn, that ruins our entire plan. We'll have to find someone else."

    "Plan?" Jeff asked.

"You didn't hear? Well, at the U.N. today, it was reported that Hong Kong was the hardest hit by the Abyss attacks. So of course, the U.S. being the country that it is, chose to sent a some soliders over their, including some S.P.A.D.E operatives."

"I see. Well when are we leaving?" Vince asked

"3 days sharp. And the upside to this is you get some SWEET equipment. And when i say sweet i mean it. You'll be side by side with tanks, Jets, Copters, you name it."

"Do we have any choice to stay or go?"

"Sure you have all the choice in the world! Were nice people hear, we're understanding. But of course i you choose to stay you'll lose your job...."

    "Alright, alright, i got it."

In three days time the ships and planes had hit the shore of China. It was time to show the Abyss what the U.S. was about.

    Uh-rah!
