As Carambeth entered the great pavilion, he was taken aback by its size and splendour. Even here, in the midst of a battle, the Queen had only the finest lodgings. It was good that she had returned, she had been too long away from Lorinea. As he came close to the Queen and her companions, he bowed low to the ground.

"Rise, First Ranger," she said, and he looked once more upon her beauty. Her golden hair and deep blue eyes would set the hearts of any ablaze, and her powerful personality and loyalty to her people only made her more worthy of her almost legendary status.

"Where are the other Four ?" she asked, "Is it not custom for the entire Ranger Council to attend the Queen ?" The look upon her face made it clear she feared and knew the answer. She had always been a friend to the Rangers, it saddened Carambeth to tell her of their deaths.

"I have named Elril as Second Ranger, unfortunently she is tended the wounded and helping to salvage what we can of Lorinea. She could not make this meeting, nor could I find her when I looked."

"This is terrible news indeed, Carambeth," she said, and Carambeth was taken aback that she would use his name, not his rank, "Can Lorinea be saved ?"

"It had been saved, Your Grace. The timely arrivel of the Alliance has saved many lives, but Lorinea is half destroyed. The people have survived, though, and the city can be rebuilt. We owe you many thanks."

She motioned to a chair, and as her handmaids left, he sat down across from her. "Your Grace, if I may speak freely..."

    "Ofcourse," she intoned.

"Then I need to know why the Orga attacked us in such large numbers. Raids, we have had in earnest, but they have always been checked. This was not a simple raid, it was an extermenation. We would all be dead and our city in ruins had not the Alliance arrived. Do you know why we were singled out thus ? Surely the Orga have many enemies ?"

"You must understand Carambeth, that Lorinea is not the first to be attacked so. The strongholds of the Dwarves have all but fallen. The Elves seemed to be next on the Orga's lists. Something dark moves them, fills with hate and fury."

"I noted that on the battlefield, they were fey and their rage seemed multiplied..." he said absently, his thoughts racing back to the battle. He could see his sword flashing, defending his city. Blood was all around him, and his Rangers were falling...

"I have joined the Elves to the Alliance. We are attempting to move towards the cities of Men. Lorinea is the last of the Elven settlements, and we fear the Orga are planning to attack Men using a much large force than we have seen here today. I fear the worst. Your Rangers' will be needed Carambeth. All that can be spared must make for the cities of Men."

Carambeth was startled by the news. The Orga...amassing an army ? What could they hope to accomplish ?

"You will stay here tonight, Carambeth, and your wounds will be tended by my own handmaids. You fought well today, and your leadership in our time of crisis will not be forgotten."

She motioned, and three of her handmaids came into view. "Take him to the baths, wash him, and bathe his wounds. Patch his clothes where its needed, and give him anything he asks. The Ranger's Of Lorinea have done another deed worthy of song."

"Thank you, my Queen," was all he could manage to say as he was taken to the bathhouse. His thoughts still raced with the thoughts of the Orga armies. He needed to inform Elril, and the other Rangers. He was loth to take them again into battle, being so few. But he knew it needed to be done.

He wondered, as he soaked in the hot waters, if there was another way the Orga could be defeated...

Ephrit had walked the battlefield searching for any Orga that may have survived, but after more than half a day's search he had found none. Stalking through yet more dead Orga he noticed one of very unusual size, more than twice that of a normal Orga. He walked over to the beast and circled around in front of it, seeing a sword put through it's neck. Must have been one hell of a brave warrior that put that blade there... whats this? Looking to the hilt of the sword he seen there was a whip tied around it. He turned his head and looked back behind him where the whip was leading, and found himself staring at the human that must have wielded the whip.

Ephrit walked over and crouched down to check if the man was still alive. "Your a lucky one, you are." said Ephrit quietly as he heard the man breath. He moved aside the Orga blade which was snagged into the man's clothing and put him up over his shoulder, grabbing up the two whips that were at his side. Ephrit was not very fond of humans, but any human who could take down a beast of that size and live to tell the tale deserved his admiration. "Don't worry friend, I'll get you patched up."

Elril saw the minotaur pick up a limp body of a man. Figuring they weren't friends she took it that the human was still alive. She made her way towards the two. "Hold it!" she said, not in an unfriendly voice, but one that fortell she just wanted to speak to the minotaur, not command him. The minotaur slowed down the pace and she managed to catch up, despite her bad leg. "Thank, you sir. I'm Elril, second ranger of Lorinea. I wanted to thank you for your help and your bravery in the battle. I do not know what drove you here, but all of Lorinea ows respect to you. I see also that you found the human I've searched for and when he awakes I wish to speak to him too. You are welcome to follow me to the gathering hall, if you'd like. There the humans wounds can be tend." She couldn't see the minotaur bleeding anywhere and did not want to be disrespectfull and bor edown on his pride, therefore she added: "And your wounds too, if you might have any."

Ephrit looked the Elf up and down. "Seems you would benefit from the same treatment. And no," he banged his fist against his armored chest "I'm fine, the beast's didn't touch me. But I'm afraid this one didn't fare so well." He glanced down at the man hanging over his shoulder. "Please, lead the way." Ephrit said as he stepped aside to let her pass.

The two of them proceeded across the battlefield, stepping over the bodies of dead Orga and Elves alike. "You Elves," Ephrit said to her as they stepped past a group of dead Elves surrounded by a group of Orgas more than five times their number "you are incredible fighters. I'm impressed."

Elril just nodded at the comment and kept walking towards the gathering hall. When they were finally there she motioned for th eminotaur to put the human down and for two elves to help the wounded up in the tree and tend to him. "He may rest here. Thank you for your help. You are welcomed to stay if you so wish, but do not expect us to be talkative." She looked out over the battle field to show him why. Beside them the elves and the human were allready up the tree. "I cannot offer you any reward for your heroism, but you will be well respected among the elves of Lorinea." She glanzed up the tree. "I must go now. What might the name be that you want us to remember you by?" Her face didn't show any emotions but one could tell she was tired and wanted this overwith quickly. That so she could get herself some rest, and something to eat to get her energy back. She waited though, patiantly, for the minotaur to give his answer.

"Stormborn." He looked her up and down again, she looked very worn out. "Get some rest, you'll be needing it... trust me." And with that Ephrit turned and walked back out through the field, calling back over his shoulder as he did. "And make sure you take good care of the human... we'll be needing all the able bodied fighters we can get for whats to come." And with that he stalked off to the camp that in mere hours had popped up on the edge of the battlefield.

From what he understood, that was the human alliance, and he could see very well that they had a great deal of warriors with them. But even with such a great number of warriors, the battle ahead would be a very hard one. The army gathering on the other side of the Kilnako mountains would be nearly impossible to beat even with the human and dwarven army combined, but they had to try.

    ------------------------------------------

Four days ago, high in the Kilnako mountains overlooking the Orga lands.

"H-how can this be?" Ephrit said with a look of shock on his face. For the first time in his life, he actually felt fear. He was staring at the largest army he had ever seen, completely made of Orga. It was a huge sprawling camp, easily as big as a city, with thousands of Orga roaming around it.

"They've been gathering for weeks," the dwarf beside him, Calvern, said. "and have already sent several small armies over the mountains, we've managed to hold a few of them and even push them back, but a few groups managed to get over." The dwarf shook his head in frustration. "We cannot hold them here friend, not alone. The mountains will be over run, and all the lands beyond, human, elf and animalistic, will fall quickly after that." Calvern looked up at Ephrit. "We need more people, we have to hold them here, it's our best chance. If they breach the mountains and get down into open land, they could hold slowly ravage everyone until there was nothing left. Moving from place to place, destroying towns and cities, stripping the land bare as they went." the dwarf looked back down towards the Orga camp and let out a sigh. "My friend... I need to ask something of you."

"Yes," Ephrit said, he had expected this, and was more than willing to help his old friend any way he could. "what do you need me to do?"

Calvern looked up and smiled at Ephrit. "I knew I could count on you. I need you to go after one of the armies that made it over the mountains. I know they have a mission, and I want you to make sure they don't complete it. And when you have finished that, I need you to find others willing to help in the fight here."

"I will leave at once. Which way did they go?"

"Follow me." Calvern said and walked into a cave a few feet behind them.

Ephrit turned and walked after his dwarven friend, glancing over his shoulder at the Orga camp. I will destroy them...

    ------------------------------------------

Ephrit approached the human camp. Time to see if I can convince the humans...

"Stormborn it is then." Elril whispered as the minotaur had left. She made her way up the tree and went to check on the whip-man.

"How is he? How long will it take for him to heal?" she asked one of the elf tending his wounds. "With our herbs and the power of Mother Gaea it won't be long, but to get his full strenght back he have to rest at least five days, and take care of his wounds correctly." "Okay. You can go now, I'll watch over him." Elril said. "But, lady Elril, you need also to get some rest." the elf said with concern. "I'll be fine." The elf doubted that so he said: "Let me at least tend to your wounds and get you some food." Elril was feeling to weak to answer and realised the elf was right. So she nodded her approval. The elf sent someone to get food an water and began tanding her wounds, washing them and place some herb-mixture on them before he wrapped them up in clean cloth. Elril managed to eat a bit and they she lay down mext to the human, not too close though. "I'll wake you if he moves." the elf said and Elril almost immediatly drifted away into a healing slumber.

Elril awoke by the scream and turned immidiatly to the human. She hadn't the time to ask him who Sharon and Michelle might be before he passed out again. Her head hurt when she moved but she forced herself to sit up. She moaned a bit when doing so. The elf who had tended her wounds came to her with a glass of water. "He has been talking in his sleep too. I don't think those names belong to his fellow warriors, but I can't tell you what else it might be." He stood silent for a moment whil Elril drank the water with the healing oil in. "You have been sleeping for quite some time, lady Elril, and you to have said thing in your sleep. Anything you want to talk about?" She winced as a sharp pain run through her upper arm where her biggest wound was. She sighed at the question. She had been dreaming of Sindë, seeing her pale and beautiful face hovering before her eyes, in the dream she had touched it and it had been death cold. She realized that must have been when she spoke. "She was my friend, you know, sa good a friend as there have ever been." She fell silent and the elf left her. She fell asleep again.

Ephrit walked into the human camp and was stopped at once by four guards wielding pikes. "Let me pass, I must speak with your leader." He said in a voice he hoped would not be threatening.

"Who are you!? And what business do you have with the Queen!?" Said one of the guards, a soldier of ranking from the armor he was wearing.

"My name is Ephrit Stormborn, I came four day's from the Kilnako mountain range following the Orga force that attacked this place. I have come bearing a message from the dwarves for all those that would listen. I wish to speak with your leader." He had never expected to come upon such a force in this place, but this was exactly what the dwarves would need to stop the oncoming Orga attack.

The guards looked at each other and than the one that had spoke before motioned one of the others back into the camp, "Quickly, go and tell the Queen." he said and the other man went off at a run. "Wait here with us..." He looked Ephrit up and down with obvious distaste, and at his Death-Bringer with some nervousness. "We'll see what the Queen wants to do."

After several minutes of waiting the soldier returned. "The Queen wishes to see the minotuar." The man said.

"Alright..." The leading soldier said. "But first, I need you to leave that here." He pointed to Ephrit's Death-Bringer, he had expected them to be afraid of that.

"Done." Ephrit said and dropped his weapon on the ground beside him, than motioned for the soldiers to lead the way. He followed them through the camp to a large tent in the center, and than they lead him inside. They escorted him deeep into the tent to an open space, where in there were several armored knights, who, after seeing Ephrit enter, readied their blades, unsheathing them and placing them with their tips to the ground in front of them, ready to be brought up in a seconds notice.

When he looked past the guards and to the other side of the open space he seen her, this Queen that the humans were talking about. She certainly looked important, sitting on a heavy wooden throne, but she was small and obviously weak, why humans would ever want one such as her to lead them Ephrit could not fathom, but perhaps that would be to his advantage while trying to convince her to offer her assistance to the dwarves.

"So," The Queen said to him. "My soldier has told me that you want an audience with the leader of the humans, is this correct?"

"Yes, I have come with a message from the dwarves."

The Queen sat back and raised her eyebrows in interest. "Alright, out with it than." She said.

"As I understand it you are only the leader of the human forces, along with those wearing your colors in your camp, but the elves from the city are not under your command. I wish to speak with their leaders along with anyone that has free will to come and go. This message is urgent and I do not have the time to be repeating myself to everyone near by. So I would request that you gather those that have the choice to listen to me."

She placed her hand to her chin and considered his request for a moment. "I suppose if it truly is urgent we should gather the able bodied here to hear your message." She motioned to a man wearing lighter clothing, who seemed to be a messenger. He quickly ran to the front of the Queen and took a knee.

"Yes my Queen, what would you have me do?"

"Run quickly and ask that any able bodies person that is not under my direct command gather here to hear the message of this minotuar."

"At once your majesty." And with that the man was off at a run. It was just a waiting game for now.

Irilse sat over with Luin and she saw them bring in the whip-man. Curious, she watched the Lady elf and the minotaur she had seen earlier. A throb was sent through her head and she groaned a bit, but still watched. As she stared ahead of her, a bit dazed and a question popped up into her head

    "What are you doing here...?"

She shook her head and relised she was foolish for being here and trespassing on these elves kindness and hospitality. THey have no need for here. She had felt like this for along time. She felt sick and alone in crowds, and never stayed with people long. Maybe she'll see them later. Anyways, she needed to find those murderers who massacred her family. Soon, too. As she sturggled up a bit, Luin took a hold of her arm and pulled her back down " You need to stay until you are healed" He said without looking at her.. How did he know?

" I need to leave" Irilse retorted softly, her head throbing

" Not until you heal fully and regain your strength" Luin stated simply, handing her something to eat. Sighing gently, Irilse gave up and sat down, taking the food, but setting it aside for later.

Maybe she could stay just a bit more than leave. She was sure she wasent needed anymore. Pulling her legs up to her chest, she rested her head on her knees and heaved a sigh.

Elril woke up later that night, her wounds felt better but still mad her grimace when she tried to support herself up on the elbow. So she didn't. She turned and saw that the human was still asleep. That's good for him. He needs it. she thought as she rose up from the floor.

She looked around in the room and her eyes met the watching elf. She had come to know his name was Ross, rain, she knew. He had been watching over them all night, indeed he was a loyal friend. Or was he just obeying orders? No, Elril didn't think so. He seamed to be an honorable elf, friendly and careing.

Elril gave a small sigh and walked over to Ross, she limped a bit. "How are you, second ranger?" Ross asked. "Well it's much better now. Thanks." Ross nodded and made a movement towards another corner of the platform. "I belive you two have met. I was thinking that you maybe should talk to her. She seams to be a bit confused, or disoriented if you so will." The woman he talked about was lady Irilse. Elril thought that seamed a goo dthing to do. She nodded her thanks to Ross and made her way over to Irilse. "Greetings." she said, her expression blank but not unfriendly. "How is your wound, lady Irilse?" she said politely and she actually cared about the answer. She cared for it much more than many other elves would.

Irilse fell lightly off to sleep for awhile after she had nibbled on the food Luin had given her. Her dreams were there, but most were edged in throbbing pain. Many times she woke up, her head throbbing and punding and her eyes dizzy. Just now, she stubbled upright but fell so hard that her bottum was now bruised. Blinking away her sleep, she heard a familiar expression-less voice

" Greetings, How is your wound lady Irilse?"

Irilse blinked once more and looked up to see Lady Elril. " A bit sore but nothing I can't deal with, thank you Lady" she nodded and smiled softly. In fact, There were pains all over her head but like she said, she could deal with them right now.

Elril heard the outburst from the human and looked his way. "If you excuse me lady Irilse." she said and departed for the man with a nod Irilse's way. She had meant to talk more to Irilse but it would have to wait.

She said to the whip-wielder as she faced him: "Take it easy young fellow. Your whips are taken care for, they are hosted not far away." Seeing the man calm down a bit, but not that much Elril continues, her voice calm. "I was the one who brought you here. A minotaur called Stormborn found you on the battlefield and carried you here at my request. You were wounded and Ross here," she made a movement towards her elven companion, "tended your wounds. You have been sleeping for quite a while and in a day or two you should be able to leave us, if you would like. I would really like to speak to you a bit more, of what you did and what are your errand here."

She made a gesture towards an empty space and bade him to sit down. As he did so she bade Ross, in the handcode of the elves, to fetch the mans' whips. As they both sat down an elven friend of Elril come and gave them water with healing oils in it. "I bid you to drink this, human, it will help you to heal faster." Elril said and then she took a sip of her own water, also with healing oils.

"I am Elril, second ranger of Lorinea. I am gratefull, as are all of my kin, for your help in this battle. We all owe you respect and we offer you to stay with us as long as you wish." she made a short pause. "The only thing I ask for you is what your name might be and what you were to do here in Lorines, the land of elves." At that time Ross came with the whips and gave them to the man. "I belive these are yours." he said then parted with a nod towards the man and Elril. Elril continued to sip on her water as she waited for the man to respond.

Night accepted the whips with a smile on his face... After re-wrapping them and placing them back in their place on his waste he began to sip the water... It made his insides feel warm and his wounds felt better... "Night... My name is night... This is Micheal and Sharon, My whips..." He said as he patted his weapons... "I am the only person to be sired by Alaster, The leader of The men of the third sight... they are an elite squad of assassins... Or they where... Before the orga swormed our mountain... our few numbers were not enough... But we did go out fighting... I swear each of us took an easy fifty out before we fell... These whips where Alaster's, he gave them to me in his last few minutes alive... I alone survived the attack... Alaster sacrificed himself to save me..." Nights face becomes a grim one... " I have vowed to revenge his life with 1000 orga lives..."

He takes another drink of the water...

"I am here becuase i was passing by... And I heard the skirmish and decided to lend a hand... I had heard rumors of a huge army of orga... An army bigger then any ever established in all of history.... I was hoping to stop it... or try..." He drinks the rest of the water... "I was very happy to help you all defend yourselves... I must be going shortly... If I exspect to stop this army before it causes much more pain..." He sits the cup down... "Was there anything else before I leave?"

Elril wasn't hapy at him beeing an assasin, but he's noble task wighed that up and she tried not to look too...unpleasant and angry. 1000 orgas? Wonder how many he has allready killed. She finished her water and said to Night: "Well if there is really such an army I must go there too. I will not let thoose monsters bring much more sorrow to my people." She rises from the floor. "There is an encampment of the alliance not short from here, I must go talk to them about this. If you want you can follow me. If not, leave as you wish." She looked over to lady Irilse. "I must go talk a bit with another guest. If you pardon me." she said to Night and nodded her head in farewell.

She came to Isilse. "Pardon me, lady, for my abrupt departure. There was some buisness I had to attend to." As you sure saw, she thought. "Is there anything you would like to speak to me about, or would you rather see that I left you for yourself?"

(((the Alliance is of Men, elves, and Anamalistics, the Queen, is in fact Elven)))

Morya look around as the other leaders were brought in, and looked to them in turn. "As I am sure you all have heard via my maids, this minotaur has been sent by King Dwarf, with a message of most import. Kilnako, I would assume, is either beseiged, or soon to be. But it is not my news to bear, please, Stormborn was it? Yes." She nodded. Grey curls bobbing over her aged visage "Indeed it was. Continue Stormborn."

Ephrit looked side to side, staring straight into the eyes of all those present, and started to speak. "Indeed, I have come here bearing a message from the dwarves. Four days past I was at the Kilnako mountains, by a request from an old friend, and I seen what horrors await this land." Ephrit's mind went back to that day, and he could see the same image he had seen every day since leaving the dwarves, an army of a size that had never been seen before, stripping the land clean to make their weapons for the invasion to come. "Just beyond the Kilnako mountains the Orga have gathered an army of a size never before seen. They are preparing to invade, and the only thing that now keeps them at bay are the dwarves and their mountains." Ephrit tried to gather what everyone was thinking by the looks on their faces, and even though most had a look of icy indifference, he could still smell the nervous sweat. "This army will soon break through the dwarves defenses, swarm the mountain, and gather again for a march on all of our lands once on the other side. The dwarves are ready to put up a defensive, but they are vastly outnumbered and have sent me to gather those willing to fight to save all of our lands. If we can make it to the mountains, and fight them there, with the traps the dwarves have prepared, we may just stand a chance of winning." He took one final look around the area, and than back at the Queen sitting before him. "I ask you now for your help... to save all of our lands... that you come to the aid of the dwarves and help us to fight off the great menace which is the Orga." And with this final statement Ephrit stood there in silence, hoping for the best.

The king of Elves, Fyllum, who is, by the way, in not realtion to Morya, was the first to step forward and in turn speak. "Is, is it true? It cannot be!" Unbeknownest to the rest of the gathered party, it was not the massed army he'd spoken of. "In nearly every instince I could imgine Minotaur; I would call you mad and shun you without regret. But it is indeed you." All but Moyra looked puzzled, the Queen, in fact, nodded agreement.

"It is said in Elven myth, that when the world faces dire terms, and the Elves suffer betrayal, He Who Rides the Storm shall come." He paused, looking to Moyra, who again nodded. With this, Fyllum looked back to his audience. "I believe He Who Rides the Storm, is you." He said, looking directly at Ephrit.

Silence befell the crowd. This silence led to hoarse whisper. When the whisperers where unable to hear one another, they quickly changed to talk, which again changed. This time to yelling and hollering. It was a chieftain of Blood who finally changed the matter of the talk. "Enough!" The violently red painted bull-man intoned. "Let the he elf speak! Lest the Bloods shut 'er mouths fer ya!" That line struck home.

"The myth also says that the weapon used by Storm Runner, or He Who Rides the Storm; will be of Dwarvish creation, and lies in the Heart Of Kilnako." this again brought aww to the crowd. But each presence in turn looked to the Blood Chieftain, and stayed quiet. "Now that you all know of the Myth of Storm Runner; I request you all join the cause, and led your forces to the aid of Stormborn; future saviour of all." With the last word, he closed his eyes, bowed his head, and walked away, to sit beside Moyra once more.
