Hey everyone, just wanted to tell you that RotK won the golden globe for best drama motion picture!
WAHOO! GO US! I am going to rub it in my critic-friends faces tomorrow!
YAY!!! next it's the oscars!!!
It wasn't even a minute afterwards that I posted this I was so excited, PJ didn't even finish his speech before I finished this.
cool, but ehh wow i be waiting for you at the oscars, hehehehehe
hooray everyone !!!!!! It won because it IS the best. Its been a long road. Hope they shower it with ever more golden awards !
yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss! go ROTK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ROTK won all the catagories that it was nominated for! Including Peter Jackson walking away with the best director.........Since we all know that he's been deserving this since LOTR, what do you think about him winning the OSCAR? I think his chances are very high, but if you remember a few years back, when Modonna won the Golden Globe for Evita and everyone was saying that she had it in the bag for the Oscar's and it went to Meryl Streep instead, everyone said that well Modonna wasn't Oscar material. What do you all think about this? Is Peter Jackson Oscar material? (I mean as a director.) I'm sure that ROTK will walk away with the Oscar but what about PJ?
With that said.................MAZEL TOV PJ, cast, crew, and all the fans out there! You all derserved this award!
I think he has a good chance.
Ahh but Gamigar, Do you think that the Oscar establishment will see that Peter Jackson has real talent, (which we all know that he does.) or that he's a hack? I mean look at his previous movies, he should've won but instead they went with other more tried but true movies like Ron Howard's "A beautiful mind" and Roman Polanski "The Pianist". Granted PJ was nominated but he's been turned down.....twice. I'm not trying to be cynical here, I'm just saying that it maybe another let down but then again, I'm keeping my hopes up so high that if he doesn't win I'm going to be crashing hard. So does anyone think this way too or am I the only one?
I wouldn't say that exactly. I think he didn't win the two previous years because they were holding out for ROTK. Granted, some of them probably don't think he's Oscar material because he isn't "Hollywood" enough, but that's just my opinion. Because there were three movies, they didn't want to give the same cast, crew, moive, etc the same awards three years in a row. They knew the third movie was going to happen and that everybody was saying it was going to be the best, so why not hold out?
But I do have to say that regardless some of those Hollywood people just didn't ever want PJ or LOTR to win.
Yeah, I've heard that they may give the Oscar to RotK in recognition of the entire trilogy.
I don't think there has been a single movie released this year that could in any way contest ROTK's greatness. PJ has it in the bag.
yesyesyes ROTK won all of it's nominations!! Even if I personally think ALL the LOTR films deserve recognition, I'm hoping that ROTK will blow all out of the water. My hopes are also very high and if it does'nt win Ill rant and rave at everyone about it's unfairness, then again it might just WIN. Makes me proud to be a kiwi. Good work PJ and crew. Fingers and toes crossed.
I've got you beat Legend I have finger, toes, eyes, and my heart crossed that ROTK will win all 11 nominations........Like I said before, if ROTK doesn't win then I'm going to crash so hard that y'all will need a shovel just to get me out of the hole that I'll be in.
I hope they do win, but somewhere deep down i dont think they are going to take the oscare. The golden globe is smaller than oscars no? i dont think they will give the golden globe and oscar to the same thing? i may be wrong, i dont know if it has ahppepened before, and i dont remeber but thats what i think will happen but i do hope they take it!!!
Na we wont need a shovel, we'll coax you out with sweets and :draught:
Hey, dont worry, if ROTK doesnt win, its not the end of the world. Wait... yes it is.
