Does anyone else enjoy this tale? Anyone read any good books related to R.H.? The tale isn't as complete compared to others, such as King Arthur, so it can lead to many differences between versions. So far I haven't been able to find any Robin Hood novels (not that I have looked very hard:rolleyes:), but I did enjoy the movie Robin Hood:prince of Thieves made in 1991 with Kevin Costner.

as I live in nottingham I get Robin hood drilled into my head a lot, we have lots of robin hood related places here, but the castle is gone, burnt down in the early 1800s now there is just a huge estate there which is museum/art gallery now.

I don't think I've ever actually read a book about Robin Hood. Maybe something when I was younger, but if I did I don't remember.

I'd like to, though. If you find a good one, let me know Radagast and I'll check it out.

I've never read a book, but I like the Kevin Costner movie, I thought that was pretty good. :) I can't stand his accent though, ugh! Everyone else has a non-american accent and he sticks out like a sore thumb.

    LadyofShalott: No prob.

Winterine: Yeah, I noticed that to. But I learned to ignore it;) The movie actually had some pretty good battle scenes in it, and the plot was quite interesting.

I've never read a Robin Hood book either. Unless you count a few romance novels set around then. (I swear, I don't read them anymore)

I loved the Kevin Costner movie. Probably cause I was about 15 when it came out and Christian Slater looked soooo cute as Will Scarlet. Not that I drool over cute movie stars anymore either. *secretly hopes no one notices her Orli obession*

Kevin Costner isn't the only one who isn't using an English accent. Neither is Christian Slater or Morgan Freeman or the lady who played Maid Marion. I think only the supporting cast was chosen from Englsh actors.

I also think the Disney version is cute. Especially the snake.

*notices her Orli obsession* Hello :D *pokepoke* Hehehe!

yeah, I know Kevin Costner wasn't the only one, but he's supposed to be Robin Hood, so I was picking on him. ;) I've never seen the disney version.

True. You'd think the lead actor would have a real English accent. Or atleast attempt one.

The Disney version is very cute just like all Disney movies. Not especially accurate, but entertaining.

Has anyone ever seen "Men in Tights" by Mel Brooks. Hysterical movie. :D
The guy playing Robin Hood states that atleast he can speak with an English accent.

*ROTFLMAO* Yes! I have! I thought it was hilarious that he couldn't use a bow and arrow! That attack bit! :D Where he's muttering to himself the instrutions that woman gave him about how to use a bow, and shoot the arrow upwards instead of forwards! *LMAO* A totally hilarious twist to what you'd expect.

I love the scene where all the merry men are getting their attire. "Get your bobkins, jerkins and pantyhose" The little dance number they do after that is very funny.
