Passed away, aged 93. RIP
Very sad news
Yeah I said this on other sites. I mostly loved his early films, (Dracula etc...) His films with Tim Burton and of course Count Dooku. Now many know I'm not a LOTR fan, but I'm glad he brought LOTR fans so much joy as Saruman. I feel it's a bit sad that he didn't get to play the part he really wanted to and that is Gandalf. Still, I guess Saruman is a good alternative. He was such a lovely man and when you look at what he did he was just a legend. Still he had a long and I'm sure he had a good life. So that soothes me.
Evil loses a great ally today - now who can they turn to for a menacing voice, calm collected control and dominant personality on the big screen?
A great shame indeed; I must admit that I'm impressed, I had no idea he was that old and yet he's kept into acting well into his senior years; honestly fantastic that one can hold a job with great skill and retain their position and talent through their life so strong and long as he managed.
very sad to hear of his passing. I thought he portrayed Saruman perfectly. I hold my drink up high for a fallen great.
I don't believe it he's really gone
so upsetting to hear of a great actors passing
The true Prince of Darkness is gone. A man who brought terror and at the same time joy to many people. A truly great actor R.I.P
