„Ring*Con Nummer vier. Gott im Himmel!“ I think that this quote of Mark Ferguson describes my weekend quite good. It was so awesome! As the title of this thread says I went to the Ring*Con in Fulda, Germany of course. It was wonderful. Amazing. Indescribable. I really don’t know where to begin. As I arrived at the Esperanto Hotel I saw the first elves and orcs and Hobbitses walking around and I thought like "Whoa, it’s really cool here!" But as I saw Mark Ferguson and Craig Parker on stage I was uber stunned. I was... I have no idea how to describe that, not even in German. Those guys just rock. There’s so much I can talk about. The most important thing: Craig Parker in lederhosen hotpants. At an auction they sold Lori Dungey’s (Mrs. Bracegirdle) lederhosen hotpants. Craig grabbed them and disappeared with them behind the stage. Everybody wondered what he was doing, you could just hear one „Ouch!“ and not one minute later Craig entered the stage wearing those slinky skintight lederhosen – and one of my friends who sat closer to the stage and took photos of this said you could have seen everything. I can’t wait to get those photos. Well, I think Mark Ferguson was laughing his ass off as he saw this. I don’t know, I was just looking at Craig. Goddamn, he’s so hot! He only wore those lederhosen and an undershirt. Yummi. An Irish girl named Taz bought the lederhosen for 145€ and Craig wanted her to take them on behind the stage. Later in the evening she told me that Craig ripped her skirt off, and then wanted to put her hair into pigtails. He did, and it looked awful. Well, that’s what Taz said, but I really liked it. She looked so cool, I‘ll try to find a pic of her somewhere. And sunday there was an Elven Panel, Mark and Craig together with Sandro Kopp (who looked really cool with his beard), Jarl Benzon and Jonathan Harding. Somehow they came to the topic fairy tales, as Craig said he’d love to listen to fairy tales before he goes to bed – as they were talking about Mark‘s and Craig’s relationship to each other. And some of the fans asked if they didn’t like to play with each other again. *coughs* So suddenly Mark decided to play a fairy tale: Cinderella. Mark was the storyteller, Craig was Cinderella. And Cinderella had to clean a window. So Jonathan and Sandro played the window. And Jarl? Jarl was the cleaning cloth. And because Cinderella didn't need this cloth anymore after having cleaned the window (s)he threw Jarl off the stage. Poor Jarl. Well, I can’t tell you the whole story, I just remember the part where Cinderella needed to cut firewood. Two fans dressed as the Party Tree and the White Tree of Gondor were standing on the stage, so Cinderella went to the white tree and said: "Look, the White Tree of Gondor, finally flowering after thousands of years. Let's cut it down!" (I hope I didn’t misquote...) And after that he wanted to cut the Party Tree. BTW, Sandro Kopp was his chainsaw. Then the chainsaw and the Party Tree fell in love, but unfortunately the chainsaw cut the tree accidentally. Perhaps I’ll be able to tell you the whole story later. When I got the DVD. April 2006. Oh, and there was also a fotosession with Mark and Craig! I was so nervous and as I finally went to them I could just say: „Oh my God, you’re so tall!“ (Remember: Mark’s height is at least 6'4"!) So Craig, who was standing on my right, said to Mark, who was standing on my left: "What about this? SHRINK!" You have to see their postures! As Craig saw it today at the autograph session he looked really stunned. And after two seconds he said "It’s so lovely!" And it is. At least Mark’s and Craig’s postures are. (I totally forgot to tell him how sexy he looked wearing the lederhosen.) I also got autographs of Thomas Robins, Royd Tolkien (J.R.R.'s great grandson), Stephen Ure, Peter Tait, Mana Hira Davis, Jonathan Harding, John Noble and... Billy Boyd!! There was also an autograph session with Lawrence Makoare, but he had drunk too much the night before so he couldn’t come. Tom Robins is so cute! I hate so say that somebody is cute, but he really is. Unfortunately I forgot to give him the Hobbit biscuits. And Stephen Ure called me darling! Awww! John Noble! Oh my God, John Noble is wonderful! Every time a fan came to him during the autograph session he shoke his/her hand. Now that’s polite, isn’t it? And he was so friendly. He asked me how I was, and I answered I was fine, but really nervous. So he asked "Why? What have you done?" I said: "I’m meeting John Noble!" and he asked "Where? Where is he?" And as he gave me the autograph he said "You’re now my friend." John Noble, you’re great! Whoa, and Royd Tolkien was so... yummi. I still can’t believe he’s 36 years old, because he looks like 20 or 25! Here’s a photo of moi and Royd. Unfortunately Billy Boyd came very late on sunday. The autograph sessions were from 10am until 12:30, but he arrived at 2:30pm. His flight to Frankfurt had been cancelled, so he had to find another flight. But after one hour of waiting I finally met him! He’s just lovely. He must have had a very stressful day, but still he was so friendly and charming. He was just Billy. And his smile is just mind-blowing! The closer I got to him the more nervous I got. But even though I was so nervous I said "Hello and thank you so much for coming here" without making any mistakes. Yay me! And as I left the room I felt as if I stood on the brink of a nervous breakdown. But it was so wonderful and I’m really happy that I’ve met him. During his panel some fans asked if he may sing us a song, but of course he refused. But yet he sang a song at the end of the panel. Lilac Wine. It was so awesome! I was so sad that I had to leave after this panel. I would have really loved to see the Closing Ceremony, to see Mark and Craig and Tom and Royd and Lawrence and John and Lori and Sandro and Jonathan and Mana and Jarl and Stephen and Peter one last time. Dudes, I really gotta end this "report" now. It’s getting boring, isn’t it? It wasn’t! I nearly cried as I had to leave, really. But looking at my photo with Mark and Craig makes me so happy! And I'll post some pictures of the Con later. I'm still collecting them.
