Yep, I enjoy both rap and hip hop. I basically like most genres of music, but these two I have always been fond of. I like hip-hop more than rap a bit though. Sometimes I can't tell what's what.

Hip hop is the music, rap is the rhyming or vocals. I got into rap because of hip-hop. Something that really bugs me these days is the name "nerdcore" rap when artists like Deltron have been rapping for years about sci-fi and other stuff but just haven't had as much limelight.

In particular my favorite rapper is probably Del, and my favorite hip-hop dj was Nujabes.

Hip-hop, excluding the sub-genres of gangsta and specific parts of southern hip hop (ie. Soulja Boy, Chief Keef, Waka Flocka), is fine. As a rule, not a fan of modern mainstream hip-hop, but 90s stuff is great... Blonde Eminem, DMX, Tech N9ne, Krizz Kaliko, and Hopsin are probably my current favorite artists.

Oh come on JNK, I'm sure there is at least one rap artist or hip hop DJ out there for you. I mean everybody loves Johnny Cash and he is country.

    Maybe something more like this?
Or you are into rock and stuff right? I wonder what I could dig up...

I think JNK is as stubborn about this as I am about hating Twilight and everything to do with Stephanie Meyer. Some of us just can't be swayed.

How did you not know that by now? I'm always going on about how much I hate Twilight. And also, I know plenty of girls who hate Twilight haha. Most of my friends, my roommate etc. All female, all hate Twilight.

Rap isn't really my thing, but I don't mind it if it's mixed in with something else. Like this track for instance:

It's the beats that get to me, just the big beats and grooves that hip-hop brings to the table. Something says relaxation like kicking back with some hip-hop in the sun, at the beach.

I grew up liking Eminem, but my tastes have changed quite a bit. Although I'm a big fan of gangster rap still. I'm a fan of DJ Hi-Teks beats, especially his work for Mood back in the day. I recently started listening to some Kendrick Lamar songs, and they're not oo bad, especially The Recipe with Dr Dre, that's a beautiful track. I'm also really into Childish Gambino. Also, grew up loving, and still love, Optimus Rhyme, even though they are sometimes referred to as Nerdcore, I still take them as rap. MF Doom is great. Obviously I love Wu-Tang.

What are some of your favourite artists or songs?

Currently I've been digging the following (which may have been mentioned above as well):
