I can agree that it is a selfish act, but I'd personally stop short of saying this to someone who's contemplating suicide. That would only make them feel more wracked with guilt than they already do. It'd be like kicking a legless dog - cruel and pointless. (Not that I'm saying you're doing this, Crou.)

I'm more talking about once the deed is done. Many people contemplate it but come around and change their mind.

This is an interesting turn of events for this case.

The nurse in question was depressed already and had apparently attempted suicide twice before. One time an overdose from pills and another from jumping off a building. Sounds like she was just waiting for an excuse to try it again and these DJ's called at just the right time to have that excuse. I knew there had to be more to it.

I read the same today. I'm sure that will come as a great relief to those dj's cause if I were them I would be dealing with massive guilt, but now it seems they only gave her a small push (maybe), thinking they were the problem, while the problem was already there. I thought before that it seemed too much of a drastic move just because of a prank. She would have killed herself eventually. They just sped things up and not even that is entirely proven. It could be just a coincidence.

Yeah I certainly thought that it was way too drastic just over a prank. Especially to leave kids behind like that. There had to be more too it. I feel so sorry for the two DJ's, they did feel a lot of guilt and I hope this news can ease it, even if just a bit.

Scapegoats. What a crock of shit that the on-air talent get shafted but the producers who would be just as complicit in the stunt get to keep their jobs.

Reckon those 2 presenters will ever get another gig in radio? I doubt it and his whole affair has been blown out of proportion. Radio stations have been pulling these juvenile pranks for decades so nobody could have foreseen this suicide. I feel for the nurse's family of course, but I also feel for the two presenters who've been shafted big time.

funny how the producers survived it.
