This is probably a no-brainer to many, but I am in search of fantasy novels in which a band of heroes get together and try to obtain a magical artifact; they are opposed by an evil wizard, or dark lord, or what ever who wants said artifact for himself. I am a big fan of this style of plotline, in large part because of Indiana Jones. However, a lot of modern fantasy is going all Game of Thrones in style and substance, which frankly I find boring.

Also: I would vastly prefer books available on Audible; I do a lot of driving, and audiobooks are fantastic for that kind of activity.

I mean, LotR is pretty much this, just opposite lol. I assume you're looking for something not LotR though, unless you've never read/listened to it, then I would highly recommend it

Yes, preferably not LOTR. Though, that is a masterpiece.

The Belgariad and the follow on Malloreon series of books by David Eddings fills your criteria if you haven't read them before.

Just read anything by Joe Abercrombie .
And if I had LOTR on audiobook and listened to while driving I'd probably fall asleep and smash into a power pole having listened to someone drone in about trees or some shit for a quarter of an hour.
