No, not gawn, "gone".
...They're the same to me...
As for Aegon i do A-gon
hey, LDH, I say 'a-boot'....
@ Sen: Lol. Canadian accents are hilarious.
AEGON i pronounce like I'M GONE, just without the M in the middle. BYGONE bithout the B. every AE in targaryen's names i pronounce like I.
but i still don't get the tywin and tyrion. i tried pronouncing that Y between T and W in TYWIN and T and R in TYRION like I, to get something like TEIRION and TEIWIN like the Germans would read it. like that AE in AEGON i described up there... is that right? i'm really cinfused.
I think the fact that its a t-Y-w and t-Y-r means there can be variations in pronunciations. ty as TIE is common in some other lannister names Tytos or whatever the one si cant remember, but i doubt its exclusive.
Just do what i do and do TIE-win and TI-ree-on eith a soft i like tits.
Well, there's so many 'Canadian' accents, we're such a culturally diverse nation. Plus for me, I kinda start talking like anyone I'm around who has an accent, like absorbing their accent or something. Morgan's like that too, it gets pretty funny, 'specially when we're watching something like Harry Potter with all those english pronunciations.
I guess you could say my accent's like a milder, softer Scottish one. Sort of. Haha, I've never tried explaining an accent before, it's quite amusing ^^
About the Tyrion and Tywin thingy, I agree with Cru that they 'y's are different because of the letters that proceed them. Hence: TEER-ee-ohn and TIE-win.
Yeah... but Scots don't say "aboot".
You're not always right.
I pronounce it the way Senekha does. But frankly, I'd rather go to a GRRM signing someday at a convention and hear the way he pronounces them. Or buy the audiobooks off iTunes.
Right, no pic.
That's fine with me.
oh come on, we nearly had all that business finished with and you back out at the last minute.
damn you! for that im killing niamh. To think i didnt even mention that in the negotiations, and what do i get in return, NOTHING! pfft, just like you.
anyway we're always going back to tyrion, lets find something new to pronounce eh? how about......erm.
....i got nothin.
AHAHAhahahaaaaaaaaa....lol I got a kick out of that speel Thanks And don't kill Niamh yet, I got plans for her myself Orlan's gonna get a visit soon, too :littlethi
well ust so you know, orlan isnt a man to be intimidated, and if you show up and piss him off, he'll either kill you himself, or send a legion out to kill you for spite.
Sounds like fun Just the sort Anke would love, too
Anyways, on the pronunciation stuff, I find it amusing trying to type and tell others how we pronunciate things...we all interpret certain groupings of letter differently, etc. It'd be so much more interesting if we all have mics or something and actually showed how we say things.
Well the problem with that is that for some things, its always thought and never heard if you dont know anyone else who's read asoiaf. so it might not work the same if youve never said it.
And fyi, a legion is a lot, about a thousand men, more than enough for julians ridiculous self confidence. and they would have a group of eagles to take care of anke too.
oh trust me my boy, I know just what's in a legion. history buff and army freak here, remember I study ancient tactics and battle plans, and was going to major in such at the Academy until I found out I have a certain disease.
Still, we should get mics.
Lol. You thought THAT was funny? You should have seen our PM wars.
Separate names with a comma.
