Looks good SJ. Or at least it's looks pleasing enough to the eye to me. Not that I would ever actually eat it since I'm veggie haha. Would be noodle and noodle soup. Although to me that looks like pasta, not noodles in the pot. Maybe that's one of those words that changes around in different countries.

That's definitely pasta, not noodles, but it looks good all the same. yum

Nothing better than a good hot stew!

That's what I thought Druid, but I think in some countries the words pasta and noodles are interchangeable, where as in other countries like Australia they have different meanings.

"Noodles" are a subset of pasta I suppose. I actually have a phobia about "noodles"... lol. I can't eat anything that even remotely resembles an intestinal parasite (nematode). No spaghetti, linguine or fettucine for me! Rotini, bow-tie pasta, fusilli and macaroni are OK and that's why there's rotini in the soup. :D It's my brother's fault. When we were kids he told me once that spaghetti was worms in blood sauce. I remember throwing up and haven't been able to eat it since. :p

It WAS yummie... definitely one of my better efforts.

Oh good, that means more for the rest of us then :D

Lol SJ! That's awesome but I get it, I have weird fears too. I used to hate seeing heaps of blue cords (you know like internet cables) in walls in big buildings. I thought they looked like giant veins getting ripped out of the buildings.

hahahahaha.... that's a good analogy for veins/blood and cables/electricity actually.

I hate the consistency of penne and non tape-worm-like pasta, as it reminds me of times when they were badly cooked and [almost] made me throw-up.

Noodles are Chinese and aren't at all the same thing as pasta, which is italian.

That's interesting about the noodles. Chinese noodles here are hard, crunchy things and even the chicken noodle soup you buy in the grocery store has pasta in it. The pasta in commercial soup looks like tapeworms and the "Mr Noodle" just-add-water pouches look like roundworms. I never could eat those! :p

    Thank you :)

They're both boiled unleavened bread. Same thing whether the're from the far east or the Med. In common North American use, "noodle" is merely a set of shapes sometimes used for pasta.

    It certainly was very nice.

Tinned tomatoes, baked beans and kidney beans. NOTHING else (except for garlic and seasoning).

I also made mashed potato with some mustard.

It was very nice, although I couldn't taste it that much because I didn't put as much in as I should have (my brother and sister don't like mustard).

I've never tried mustard in potatoes either... I think it would be good though. Did you use the powdered kind or the "prepared kind"?

My daughter's birthday party is this afternoon and she requested ice cream cake:
