aww..cr@p. I dont do well today.

and before I said - that (@ Odd) all Eastern Europians hate russians (Latvians - hate me, Lithuanians hate em, Polish apparently hate me ...etc).

I hope that explains a lot.

Aaaah, ok. Get it now. Although it's not like I hate Russians. It's just that Polish people don't like to be seen as part of the Russian empire ;)

Hey Per can you teach me how to digitally paint? I've been trying to teach myself for a while now but I still suck at it.

I'd love to. (I'm still learning myself though)
What do you want to know and do you use a tablet?

I've got a wacom bamboo tablet. I just want to learn how to paint in photoshop, starting from scratch and building up. And how to blend colours etc.

Here's a screenshot of a painting I started ages ago of an insect I made up. I still haven't finished it, as you can see it's very much a work in progress still. It basically shows how little I know about blending colours together etc.

That's really cool. I think you've started very well.
One suggestion would be starting off with some sort of background colour other than white. It helps having a darker tone for one to understand the meaning of highlights etc. (which you only add in the very final stages)
On one hand it can end up too dark if you want an entirely white background, but it sure helps keeping it somewhat darker than white to begin with. Also, if the insect is lit by warm light, like the sun at mid day, it has "warm" colours.
If you want an dramatic image, you can experiment using slightly "cold" colours as casted shadows like somewhat purple or blue-ish. It's all about experiment (check out the colour wheel). Also, reflected shadows could be warm but dark, like shadows under your nose, eyebrows or chin using a burnt sienna colour. It's all about what atmosphere you wish to portray. In warm light the shadows are cold compared to the spots hit by direct light. If the image is set during a moon-lit night however, "colder" colors would be used and the darker and colder it gets, the more "greyish" and monochrome colours you could use. That's all my ideas and I have no idea what a true pro would say. I say, experiment with that and see. I've always used waaay to bright colours when painiting. Really it's darker than we think, only photos are light as white at times.

Another tip would be for the line art. Line art hit by direct warm sunlight could be warmer that that in shadow and the parts closest to the spectator could be darker.
    What do you think?

Thanks for the tips. I will definitely make the background a darker colour while I paint it. Although I was hoping to present the final one on a white background, maybe with just a bit of gradient or something. I will take into account all those colours etc you just mentioned as I work on it a bit more.

The line art is all messy right now. As you can see I only finalised the lines in some places so far where as in others it's still all wonky and not even filled in.
