Thank you all. I agree with your opinions on talent. This is a great place to read, write, draw and paint and discuss. A true forum and I thank you all for it.

But art shouldn't always be pretty and nice, sometimes it should evoke stronger emotions.
You've probably seen dozens and dozens of ogres depicted in fantasy art, but I bet not one of them was anything more than a big hulking creature fixing on tearing a human apart limb by limb. I thought why can't an ogre have something else on his mind besides killing a person?

I wanted to make people laugh, and yes, be a little uncomfortable.;)

I understand that perfectly and understood the touch, but to me it just didn't fit in with the rest of the forum and the art that is posted there. In any other context I would have rather liked that touch (I never had a problem against the picture of Emelie either).

    Hey fellas,
here's a work in progress piece that will eventually end up as a new cover for a swedish role-playing game that's getting a work-over.
I don't really like working on background things after the foreground is almost complete but I needed to get a move-on with it.
Hope you enjoy it and feel free to express your opinion.

Great action there, the colours also are really nice.

I have a book in a very similar style, about William the Conquerer, which also has vikings and saxons in. Your picture here does look very accurate, but also captures the action well, in a nice small area.

That's shaping up to be fantastic (as usual) Per.
I like the facial expressions on the characters: nicely done!

    Hey!

I know there's a lot of good artists out there and it's truly a joy to look at the works they produce.
I thought I'd share some of my favourites and other bookmarked blogs and artists that I enjoy when I need inspiration, ideas or just
a good time. So, grab a cup of coffee or drink of choice and feel free to look through my eyes.
I think you know some of them at least and I'll only share a few now. Perhaps more later?

    Larry MacDougall

I love his sketches and works in pencil as well as colour.

I haven't checked out his most recent works but I really enjoyed his red pencil drawings

    Brom

One of my absolute favourites. His stuff really connects with me somehow. Seems to be a likeable fellow as well.

Love it all to the point of eroticism. Relate that to my wish to eat Leyendecker's art and... I won't excuse myself!

http://muddycolors.blogspot.se/ Great artists with neat posts. I think they all come from the same cotton candy land in the Andromeda Galaxy

I love Brom, though sometimes I wish the subject matter didn't look so 'posed'.
Michael Hayes is awesome too... very classical and old world.

Wow.. thanks for those links Per. Out of those I'd have to say I liked the red pencil drawings by Michael Hayes the best. The one with the girl popping out of the floor reminds me of looking down at a dancer from a seat high above them. <3 <3 <3 that drawing!!!!

Yes, I know what you mean and can agree to that.
Maybe you'd like Petar Meseldzija as well?

Hey, no problem. I think I could share two good artists for every one of my days on this little speck of dust. I also like those pencil drawings.
Soey Milk and Karla Ortiz are cool artists that master the pencils, at least in my opinion.

I stand with what both Sparrow and SJ said!

Also, a while back you asked for inspiration for a drawing. Well, the other day I saw a picture which got me wondering whether you'd do something similar:
Viking drakars in a storm next to some big cliffs.

(the painting wasn't actually that, but that's what I thought would be cool to do)
