this is enough to make me feel miserable.
Lots of cost goes into functional blades. even machine cut functional blades, like Angus Trim and Albion swords, go for $400 or higher. And those prices aren't suggested retail, those ARE the prices. The UC ones go for less than retail.
Yes, I know. Can't a guy have dreams anymore? SHEESH
By the way, now Angus is producing two more swords, one code named "Ranger King" and the other "Foe Hammer." Interesting.
Oh, and he has been asking around about doing a second run of ranger-type swords, with changes from his first.
I know, did you see the in progress pic of the ranger king? looked sweeeeet
I am afraid that we will not see foe hammer until the end of 2004, though.
Where did you see the Ranger King photos? I would love to see them. Also, which sword is Foe Hammer a version of?
What would be the average wating time for a LOTR sword?
well, yasmar foe hammer is a version of Glamdring. in Sindarin elvish these two words mean pretty much the same.
Boromir: there is no waiting time for any United Cutlery LoTR sword, provided they are already released.
If you are referring to angus trim/chris fletcher's swords then I'd say the wait is a few months.
For us it would be about a week to get you your sword to ya. Even to Austrailia
wow thats what i call good service!
Why are Atrim and Christian Fletcher making another version of Glamdring (Foe Hammer)? Isn't the elven leaf-blade they already offer their version of Glamdring?
It doesn't look like Glamdring at all. different crossguard, different pommel, diferent grip and a much shorter blade with a bigger leaf in it. I think the atrim/fletcher leafsword pretty much stands on it's own.
The custom Elven leafblade they have right now seems more to be inspired by Sting rather than Glamdring.
Yes, I got that impression also. It's the guard that does it.
And the leaf-blade is way to wide for the slender, elegant Glamdring. *sigh* Can't wait for the first pics of "Foe Hammer."
The next batch of Christian Fletchers are still a bit away. He first has to wait for the blades from Angus and then he starts on dressing them. I ordered my Redeemer on October 20th and the last I heard they're still more than a month away....
getting nervous already Sky?
Nawwww.....not nervous, excited.
Damn, did I mention I was getting a Redeemer? Seems like it's takin' forever....hehe
