I noticed something interesting while watching TTT the other day.
In the scene where Merry and Pippen were escaping the Uruk's in Rohan, their hands were tied right? If you watch the part where the horse nearly hits Pippen you will see that he is not bound, in fact his arms are flailing around, but in the next clip he is tied again. LOL, oops

Yeh. You were right about Pippen and his *magic* bounds. Nice one pulling them up there; that's so bodgy. I don't see how film-makers could be unaware of inconsistencies like that. Esp. such an astute film-maker such as PJ. *Evryone makes mistakes tho I guess .... meh.

Gandalf also looses his sword! When he enters the stables to go to shadowfax he is carrying his sword on his shoulders. He then puts his arm down and when he mounts Shadowfax the sword is gone.

Also notice how Gimli sometimes has a double bladed axe and sometimes a single bladed axe. I thought maybe he had more than one but in a scene it changes.

Yeah when Eomer remounts his horse after first meeting Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli, his sword tis right out of the scabbard and falls completely out! You can see his eyes flick down in a moment of "Should I continue?" which of course he does. Hehehehe.

But it's easy enough to have that happen without a really rigid rigging system. I had a belt-mounted quiver of arrows get caught on my leg, twist around, then turn upside down as I was running and tip all my arrows out! Doh!

Gimli has 5 axes. The 3 small ones are for throwing, he uses 1 big one as a walking stick, and he carries the double sided one on his back.

How about when Aragorn falls over the cliff? He stabs the rider with GD, as he's getting dragged along and goes over. Are you telling me that he pulled it out and sheathed it on his way down into the water. I doubt he could do that.

Maybe he sheathed it once he was in the water.

I doubt he'd still be holding it once he hit the water from that high up.

It seems to me that when Gimili, Aragorn, and Legolas meet up with gandalf in the woods, gimli takes the axe off his back, throws it, it shatters and then magically reappears again on his back. I could be wrong, though.

It was a throwing axe, not a regular one. Those constantly break and the handles have to be replaced. I'm guessing the haft broke, but the metal head was fine, he just got a new handle in Edoras.

As I said in my post, I know it is possible for him to have more than one, but in the same scene without him moving he goes from a single to a double and vice versa
