Yep, scenery makes all the difference. I'm not too bad at painting miniatures, but completely useless at making and painting buildings. My friend is a whiz at it though; he makes them out of foamboard and balsa wood and they look amazing. When everything's set up right Mordheim's a very atmospheric game, much better than Warhammer. In fact, just talking about it makes me want to set up a game tonight.:D

Aww, I'm in the UK. Too bad. Otherwise I'd invite you round for a night of drunkeness and profanity. That's one of the rules we follow: no game starts until we've all had a few beers, and no game finishes until we can't see straight.:D

Oh I agree there! I'm not the best painter but I'm ok. I paint scenery better.

    Rat Ogre :D

Custom Troll conversion lol - This is a rat ogre body, with a warhammer 40k Ogryn head and a barrell from a train set :p

They're really good! Better than my efforts, I reckon. I'm quite good at painting detail, but realistic shading is beyond me, so my miniatures tend to have a cartoonish look.

cheers. What warbands you play? I've got 2 human, a skaven, an undead, a Possessed (all conversions from dark eldar and other), and an Orc warband (White Dwarf rules).

I've got 3 Skaven warbands, 2 Marienburg, and 4 Undead. As I've been collecting undead miniatures for years, they're my natural choice. I quite like the Skaven, though. When I get tired of zombies, I choose them.:p

Skaven are a good warband. I too like Undead but would have to say they can be a tricky warband to use.

Orcs are one of the funnest.

Not so much tricky as just plain crap, at least the way I play them.^^

Skaven are better, and I only collected the Marienburgers 'cos I liked the look of the minis. I'm quite fickle that way.:)

simple tactics with humans, equip them with spears so they always strike first or give them two swords. Simple but effective.

Tactics tend to go out the window after a few tins. Old vendettas rise to the surface and things get quite dirty and underhanded. Wouldn't have it any other way though. We've tried playing sober and it just isn't as much fun.

I can see how your mate giving your prized hero a permanent wound would cause that. :p

Especially as it takes me several weeks to paint each bugger! I remember once one of my prized zombies was thrown across the table in a fit of pique. If it had been a GW plastic zombie it would've just bounced, but this was a metal Ral Partha zombie, and his right arm got bent. No matter how I tried to fix him, I couldn't get him back to his original look. Boy, was I mad! A week of free time spent painting gone right down the drain. I won't repeat what I said to the person responsible, but I fair turned the air blue.:D

I've started building a 3D dungeon for the rpg I play with my mates. Rather than do a lot of painting, I'm simply printing out dungeon tiles onto photo paper and gluing them to plastic. Here's a section of corridor (minus a wall):
    DSC00008.JPG

I've also started working on some beasties to populate the dungeon. This is a Reaper Vampire. I decided to give him some blood-red armour, and it turned out better than I expected. I still have to finish his axe, sword, and base, though.

The pictures are a bit fuzzy because I don't have a digital camera and had to use my phone, which has problems focusing on anything not six feet away.:p
