Salutations to whoever passes this way and bothers to read these words. Having started an introduction thread, I suppose it's only fair that I actually introduce myself. My name is Martin, I'm in my thirties, and I'm unmarried with no children (that I know of). Having been stricken with wanderlust at an early age I've spent most of my life in various corners of the known world, sometimes for work, sometimes for pleasure. About the only constant in my life has been the Lord of the Rings, a copy of which has accompanied me wherever I have roamed. I've become more settled in recent years, and replaced the urge to visit exotic shores with a voracious reading habit. When I haven't got my nose in a book, I can usually be found writing poetry which would make McGonagall proud or working on what I'd like to call a novel but which is really only a collection of unrelated musings. And that, my friends, is just about all I'm willing to reveal about myself at this stage, though I guess it's enough to justify bringing this thread forth from the internet void. Doubtless I'll bump into some of you on the boards, so I'll say goodbye now and wish you all well.
