GRRM announced that one of the Dark Swords Minatures would become a POV in the new book... one who has not been a POV before.

This would seem to hint at Loras Tyrell, Sandor Clegane or Melissandre...

Who would you like to see and who do you think is most likely?

Me I'd like Loras, It would be nice if he survived, I would like to see how he would deal with being burned and likely disfigured

I think it is likely to be Sandor though...

We talked about this not too long ago somewhere around here.

I think the general consensus was that a Mel POV would be overkill. There are already two perspectives from the Wall (Jon/Stannis).

    Would LOVE a Sandor POV.

I would love either a Sandor or Loras POV!

I think I'd like a Mel POV, whether it is overkill or not ^^. After reading that Jon chapter... She became an even more interesting character to me... But I wouldn't mind a Loras POV.

There are different clues as to who it could be.
First of all there is the geography.
aDwD are going to be in the north and on the eastern continent.
I think we can agree that none of the three are going to the eastern continent.
(Unless Loras isn´t really burned, but is on a ship on the way to offer Willas to Dany. Join the quee Mother****er. I wouln´t blame the tyrells for backstabbing Cersei)

But of the three Mel is the only one in the right geografical area. Unless Sandor travel north for some reason, but I don´t think so.

The other clue is that George said sometime, that he was writing the story, and suddenly realised he couln´t write the story without a POV from this person. I can´t remember were. Sorry for the lousy source. But my conclusion is that he was writing about what´s happening in the north, and suddenly realised he could only tell it through Melisandres eyes. It is more realistic than him writing about Jon or Dany, and suddenly out of the blue realising he can´t do without some Hound or Loras chapters.
It could either be because of some knowledge that melisandre has in her head, but isn´t going to tell Stannis or Jon. Something George want the readers to know. I am getting pretty curious about Asshai, and the agenda of the red priests. It is book five out of sevenm. It is time we get some insight into these things. Especially if Dany is going to Asshai. Or it could a be that Melisandre is doing something that is crucial to the story, but Jon are not with here.

I hope and believe Melisandre is the new POV.

The Maester, as always, has pretty convincing arguments. D:

Although I'd love a Hound PoV... what could he contribute to the story that isn't already covered by someone else, is the question?

I don't think it will be Sandor since we know his thoughts quite well from all the Sansa chapters. Making him POV would not add much to his characterbuilding.

Geographically I would say Melissandre. Stannis is not a POV, the only POV in the north is now Jon.
Loras could not become a POV since his story is a bit on the sideline and ADWD and AFFC are taking place pretty much at the same time.

So I agree with most of you: Melissandre is our new POV

Yeah I'm actually really curious about Bran and what is to become of him. But as for the new POV, we have Jon on the Wall, Davos in the north, and a returning POV as well, hmmm who could that be but Theon? So he's another northern POV, plus I remember him mentioning there would be some more Asha chapters. So they are all in the north I'm fairly sure. Mel is a definate possibility, with Jon more concerned with the Night's Watch and the Others, Mel chapters could fill us in on what's happening with Stannis' men on the Wall.

As for Loras, he could indeed be on his way to Dany, or he could be burned, either way it would be interesting to see him with a POV.
