I need to name my sword being made by John Lundemo, the Boromir style one. The name "Redeemer" is perfect to describe Boromir, but alas, Christian Fletcher already has that.

And nothing simple like, Sword of Gondor or something like that, hopefully a cool and insightful name.

Hmmm... "Rescuer" or "Savior" would be good for Boromir's last deed in saving Merry and Pip. Can't think of anything else off the top o' me head.

Depends if you want an Elvish name or an English name.

Desafío is Defiant or Redención is Redemption in Spanish.

Defiance! That's the key. Standing up to the enemy thrall. Now, it could be Elvish, but that doesn't seem too befitting of Gondor. Still possible because of the relation between men and Elves, so it would have to be a sword of older ancestory, one at the time of the alliance of Men and elves.

Latin is an awesome languange, but not too tolkienesque.

"Defiance"... Hmm maybe translate to some Nordic language? I don't have a translation on hand, though.

I have always loved the name "brand", referring to an ancient sword.
And Laevatein sounds cool, but i'm not sure what wand has to do with a sword. Unless you meant hand.

wounding wand makes sense to me in reference to swords.. because it is a wand, just not a magical wand... its a woudning wand :)

I think the name "defiance" is best though, you should really go with that I think!

Well, it's not really a wand, nor is it magical, it's not an Elven sword or anything, it just might have an Elven name.

But I do like defiance, maybe a title like "Defiant Savior" would sould cool in another language, like Elvish.

I didnt say that it was magical, and i didn't mean that it WAS a wand, I was just trying to find the logic of why it might be called "wounding wand"

I think "Last Defiance" sounds cool or "Last Act of Defiance" but that might be a little too long for a sword name

If you want to know what Defiant Savior is in Elvish try looking it up on the internet, there's Elven dictionaries all over the place

Well, wand in a metaphorical sense... As in a long thing that you hold that kills. I don't think Elvish would suit it though; if it's inspired by Boromir's sword, then I think something more rustic would be better because it lacks the elegance of an Elven blade.

I already suggested 'Bitchfist' but somehow that didn't do it.
    If that isn't rustic.

BTW: lavaetein (wounding wand) was the sword of Loki.

I would like a phrase like "Wrath of Gondor", or perhaps Rakhâs-udrig which is Khuzdul for "Orcs Bane". It could be a Dwarven made sword like Narsil is. Who knows, still toying with ideas.

I like Rakhâs-udrig... you should look up what "Wrath of Gondor" is in Khuzdul!
