What the heck?I thought this thread was dead.Anyway,I am a "flag" guy, meaning I have several flags and would love to have even historical or not, flags.

The flag is a symbol of a nation,it's something of great value to some, not just something to wave on parades.

RW asked in a simple way "it's not like someone dies in a battle and they lose the war" or something like that,it's not like that of course, but the flag inspires and unites around it people with many common ideals and habits.Sometimes it defines a people.Sometimes it doesn't.

Well I'm all for flags! :p

I used to own a Soviet one, way back when.

I think flags are very interesting. Ours is just a collection of other flags, but some have a lot of meaning - Egypt for example...

I have apart from the normal greek ones(you know the official one with the stripes)a big greek one with the cross only(semi-official flag, used to be official many times because for some reason our country kept switching from the sea one to the normal one),then a byzantine/church flag with the double-headed eagle,a big byzantine one with the 4 Bs I also have a Palestinian one,a very small Turkish one(gift from a friend),a Pontic Greek one,a small Serbian and finally the SS one.
    And I want more!
