What I did was take 2 boards and nail the together (using 2 brace boards on the back) and then I drew a large circle and my dad used his jigsaw and cut it for me. Then I painted it with hunter green paint and drew the pattern for the design on useing the action figure shield as a reference :D after that I used the gold leaf and painted it. The boss was hard. I took a piece of sheet metal and cut it into a square. I found a few coffee cans the right size the boss's circumfrence needed to be and taped the metal on there. Then i kept hitting it with a ball peen hammer and a regular hammer, after one can bent i used another, when i was done i tacked it on and gold leafed it. It wasnt as easy as it sounds making the boss, the rest was fairly easy.

yea, i did that, only instead of a tree stump i used a lot of coffee cans and pounded it into there but I used a fairly thing gauge of metal so it would be easier for me to make, but I would of made it deeper but the metal began to stress and a little crack formed, luckily the gold leaf covered it up.

hey, to make a boss for your shields, wouldn'it be easier to buy a small stainless steel bowl at walmart and goldleaf/paint it?
