yeah but they are kinda short. like 150 pages or so and the font was pretty big
oo, i dont remember them much lol
Even harder is knowing that Fantasy can be a bit repetitive, and still creating a world that is Fantasy, but still different/unique enough to not be an exact copy of someone elses idea.
^^ exactly, because there are countless stories all about destroying/ finding a magic jewel/sword. but the ones that are worth reading are the ones that add unique-ness to the story
Ya my uniqueness will really start showing itself in the 4th maybe 5th book, thats when things come to life. Problem is just getting to that point in the series.
yeah I have problems like that, for instance I really liked the way Ten Town looked in my head, especially Bryn Shander, but I can't exactly use that w/o using Icewind Dale R,A, Salvatore's version of Icewind Dale or else I would confuse the readers.
yea. its kidna weird because the more fantasy books read, then the more ideas, but they usually stem from the books. and you dont really want to be "copying" it.. if that makes sence. how long are ur books going to be?
I am going to start with a short story then go larger I guess.
good idea. the current idea i had wouldnt fit into a short-story format, so i guess ill save it for later. but i think im going to start off my practicing with some short story ideas
Something I am going to try and do is branch away from Fantasy on my reading a bit. Maybe there are some ideas not used in fantasy, but in other genres, that could be used in fantasy.
that is a good idea kai.
oo, thats a great idea, ive never really thought to do that for ideas
I am thinking of reading some mystery novels, as soon as I am done with Promise of the Witchking and the Conan series.
mystery novels are pretty good. I seem to get the sulprit wrong most of the time though due to me missing a key factor
ooo. any specific mystery novel in mind kai?
ps rar, like the new avatar and sig :draught:
No not yet, I am going to have to do some research into that. I did however finish a pretty good autobiography by Frank McCourt. It was very good.
oo, who is that?
He is just an Irish writer, it was about his young life growing up, but it was pretty interesting.
Well like I said, I am going to try and write my chapter. Keep me posted if you work on yours at all. Maybe we can throw up some short stories on here, to help eachother out, or start a story the three of us can work on together.
