where would you rather live, middle earth or today?
    Think hard and be honest
I would honestly say middle earth
    a few good reasons
    no pollution
dont have to worry about all of the noise that machines and cars make
    you get to kick orc-butt

but I might have to get my brain zapped or something

Middle Earth hands down! I am a real hobbit at heart, a quaint, quiet life in Hobbiton with good food, ale and company would suit me just fine!

ME only for vacations. I like good plumbing, flush toilets, hot water, gormet food, and reliable birth control, thanks.

Now if it were a choice between living in poverty in a third world country today or ME, I'd likely take ME.

I guess it depends on the period in ME; there are certain periods where death and decay rule the scape, such as the first part of the 2nd age. For gold nor gems I would want to live in such turmoil. On the other hand, in times of glory or possibly momentous battle I'd really prefer to live there. People have forggotten the value of fighting for one's existance. It would be marvelous!

I would love to be able to visit ME but I think I would miss today. I remember last summer when we had a major blackout, it made me realize how much I love technology. So while it would be a good place to go and clear my head, I think it would get boring after a while. Also it wouldn't be as intriguing as it is right now if it actually existed.

I'd like to live in the Shire before all the Lord of the RIngs and the Hobbit stuff happened. It just seemed so peacefu there...unlike here....

I'd probably have to go with just vacationing there. Technology is really awesome! But, if I had to, I would live in Hobbiton or in the Great Smials in Tuckborough.

I would so be one of Arwen's daughters! How can you prefer stressful, polluting technology over the peace and natural beauty of Middle-earth?

I would have to agree with Tamzen
However I would include central air, updated medical facilities, and reliable transportation.

Yes, well id choose today. Seriously, Middle-Earth is nice, but thers nothing there. Tamzen stated the things we'd all miss. But id love a holiday there sometime, maybe we could live in Aman during the blissful Age of the Trees ? That'd be nice. And i could hang out with Feanor, making Silmarils and stuff.

It seems a nice idea to live in Middle earth although I imagine that the health service is not very good.
