2 of my friends bought the double bladed Darth Maul sabers, and my god they're good fun! Due to the extra leverage and force you can generate, you have to be extra careful to pull the power out of your blows on contact to avoid breaking the LEDs. Lucky we're all in the same swordfighting group so we know how to do that really well :)

I had a go with the Darth Maul vs a single bladed Mace saber, and then with the single against the Maul saber. Talk about an awesome time! These Force FX sabers are great great fun for Star Wars fans.
Due to its extra length, there's more obvious wobble in the polycarbonate blades. I believe the Darth Maul now uses AAA batteries as opposed to the larger AA batteries. Interestingly, the walls of the polycarb blade tube seemed to be slightly thicker compared to the walls on the Mace Windu saber.

The Darth Maul FX is basically 2 normal FX sabers, with the Maul styled hilt, joined at the base with a connecting collar. The 2 sabers screw into the collar to make the double. You can separate them to fight with 2 normal length single sabers, the connecting collar stays on one of the sabers and a butt cap needs to be screwed on to the second saber to avoid the batteries falling out :)
The butt cap for the second saber has the nice touch of showing the "damaged" red saber crystal from where Obi-Wan cut through it.

I'll try and get some short videos of the double saber in action, if so I will post the link.

Anakin, thanks for the info. That is awesome news. The FX lightsabers aren't limited editions right?

Master Replicas has released Obi-Wan's blue saber from ROTS. And apparently they've stopped production on Luke's green saber. I'm glad I got mine!

Master Replicas now released the Yoda FX lightsaber...I wonder how big the scale will be because he has the smallest hilt so it will not be easy to fit all the technology in so no doubt it will be a lot bigger than the original limited edition.

They said it's 33 inches long (83cm) vs 44 inches for the normal ones (112cm), apparently they "made a breakthrough in Force FX technology" thus making the mini saber possible.

Same price though, rrp USD$119. And it's still got 64 LED's in the blade I think, same as the normal length ones.

well you're talking about the complete lightsaber, not the hilt itself. Cause the hilt is barely 25 cm long if I recall.

Okay I really suck at maths, but going by the pics on the MR website, if I've sized and calculated everything correctly, this is how Yoda's saber should look vs Obi-Wan's:

    Master Replicas

    Hello there!
I have a bit of a problem... I'm thinking about buying af Force FX lightsaber from Master Replicas. But. Should I get Anakin's, Episode III or Darth Vader's Episode V /:

Maybe Mace's but I have read that it's too heavy, and that it isn't so bright because it is a mix of red and blue LEDs...

So which one do you guys recommend?
    Thanks in advantage.

Threads merged due to existing threads.

I love my green Luke ROTJ saber. I think I've cracked an LEd sparring with my mates but meh, imho they're made to be used :D

The Mace is a very cool looking handle but the purple is a bit wishy-washy due to the mix of red and blue LEDs. The Darth Vader is a classic. The blue sabers are really vivid and bright blue, so really, it comes down to your favourite handle and/or colour. I love the green colour more than the Luke ROTJ handle design, so I bought green.

Mace would be my least favourite colour-wise. Between me and my friends we own all the sabers except the Yoda, 2 of my mates even have the doubel Darth Maul. That's a big heavy beast to spar with, gotta be careful with that sucker!

Oh shut up those make me so mad because I love them I don't have money and they are so much money so my friends and I are entering the history day contest (wouldn't Anakin be a good subject) and if we win we get 1000 dollars each so maybe i could bye one then and no i don't get an allowance. I saw Yoda's at the mall and I was bummed that I couldn't get it so after we left the mall we went to toys r us where i stumbled on vader's saber. not a good day.
