Being a Tolkien and LOTR fan one thing which I have always loved about the LOTR movies is the success and praise they have gotten over the years. I have always enjoyed reading in newspapers, magazines, on the internet, or even on the LOTR DVDs themselves the reviews the films have gotten. Since because of all the incredible reviews the films have gotten I decided to create this thread. I'm going to post the best reviews the LOTR films have gotten and I would love to see other reviews that other LOTR fans have seen as well. Please though, keep all the reviews positive.

This post might be several months late, but here it is anyway.

Reviews of The Return of the King

“The second half of the film elevates all the story elements to Beethovenian crescendo. Here is an epic with literature's depth and opera's splendor — and one that could be achieved only in movies.”
    -Richard Corliss
    Time Magazine

“Labeling this as a "movie" is almost an injustice. This is an experience of epic scope and grandeur, amazing emotional power, and relentless momentum.”
    -James Berardenelli
    Reel Views

“A majestic conclusion to a nine-plus-hours epic that stirs the heart, mind and soul as few films ever have.”
    -Lou Lumineck
    New York Post

"It might be the cinema's most astonishing holy war film. The Lord of the Rings took seven years and an army of gifted artists to execute, and the striving of its makers is in every splendid frame. It's more than a movie--it's a gift."
    -David Edelstein
    Slate

"A phantasmagorical slab of epic entertainment that satisfies on every conceivable level."
    -Glenn Kenny
    Premeire

"It rises, all on its own, to the realm of masterwork."
    -Michael Sragow
    Baltimore Sun
