Anyone know an inexpensive way to make some bracers? I was at Dragon Con last year and there was a great session about costuming using really cheap items with awesome results. I lost their website though.

I made the gondorian ones out of fun foam and upholstery vinyl. only take about a yard of vinyl if you use the same color for bothe layers. that means only like 10-15 dollars for that. plus 99/piece for the fun foam.

here's where I got the idea from:

add in a few bucks for tools, glue, thread (if you stitch them), etc. means if you are content with your first try you can do the whole thing for maybe 30-40 dollars plus the time involved.

I went crazy and i spent a lot doing multiple prototypes and stuff.

you can see the ones I made in this thread:

That's perfect! Believe or not You're the exact person I'm looking for. I ran into you and your friends at Dragon Con this year and went to a costuming session where I got to see your work.

No, I didn't make that website. I just found it and used it as a basis for my bracers. But thanks for thinking I am that ingenuitive.

I did emboss like 3 sets of bracers, all told. so i can still help with questions.
