I am glad you can respect my beliefs and I take no offense. I do not pray to the Valar; only Iluvatar, and only in great need.

I realized I found more love in Tolkien's works than anything before. It was at the point where if anyone insulted it, I would feel hurt. It influenced my mind, too. Gave me a different way of thinking. Nothing ever made me like this before.

Maybe you found love in Tolkien’s work because he put a lot of what he believed in it. Tolkien loved God he love Jesus. And because he loved it he put it in his work. I am not saying this to hurt you; I am saying it because I love you because God loves you. That love you did not find in the church you have now found in me God’s love his pure love, that see throw every hurt and scare, that can see throw you and throw your hart. That see what you want, he see the desires of your hart. He knows your pain and suffering from that church. I now what it is like to be in a church and not be loved I have felt that.

Please don't let this thread become an attempt to convert. This is not the place.

If Tatharlin wants to believe in the Valar or if Pee Wee Herman is the anti-Christ, that is his perogative.

thank you Skyanide. That is wxactly what is needed to be said.

I respect all religens, they all have a right to practise. I just don't like when people say certain things to be fact ( Jesus was god's son, etc), when other religens and other people (like me, and many others here) don't agree with them.

this is a public forum, and although it's american-based (which I completely accept), it says nowhere, and has no right to be a religious place.

Please be aware that non-christion individuals are here as well.
    anyway....

I completely accept your right to practise Tolkienism, meaning that I won't critisize you / mock you.
People have a right to their beliefs, as long as they don't harm other individuals.
Even if I do think it a bit farfetched, I have no right, nor does anyone, to tell you what to believe.

According to what she said, lets not have any more of this ok, and I believe I said so in one of my erier posts. This is not the place for a debate, and Tatharlin does not want a debate.

Thank you my friends! I am glad to be on such a polite and respectable forum! :D

I would like to share some recent info with you. My latest research came up with a site displaying an email from Mark Hooker (Professor at University of Indiana) to Steve Dufour (owner of the site). http://neil.franklin.ch/Usenet/rec.arts.books.tolkien/20011210_Russian_Tolkienists
Its...interesting. I can find no further info.

truly a strange, if not interesting topic. have any of you thought of a factual basis upon which Tolkien based his stories? I can see the strongly christian message behind it all (Illuvatar as the 'one god' and the valar as an equivalant to the christian 'angels'), but there is more behind the books than most would like to believe, even with the orcs and trolls and such beasts (although Tolkien's depiction of these things isn't to be taken literally, but rather metaphorically with the savage men and creatures that existed in reality). dont take me for condoning such a religion, neither for condemning it. you have my respects on this interesting topic as well Tatharlin ;)

i think Eru is real, real like a nature.. you can't see everyting, but you can feel, so many un discovered things and life forms.. i worship Eru, cause i feel like.. you can say, it's wrong, but it doesn't mean nothing to me.. if i'm tolkienist somehow through my religion, so be it.. i'll support any member who has same believes as I or Tatharlin do.. i can say, we are not onlyones in this path.. :D

    may faith guide your steps!
