Ive gotta agree, whilst i enjoyed it a great deal, in retrospect it was disapointing, i didn't appreciate the then Squaresoft trying to make FF into a comedy. However, Beatrix and Freya are awesome.

Hmmm I don't understand why you all don't like FF9 so much in my opinion it was the best behind FF7.

    Anyway,I don't have a least favourite,all of them rocked my socks :D

I didn't mind 9, but i think the battle system was horrible. The four people were great, but it took soooo long to for the ATB gauge to fill. Maybe it's just me, but wow.

The charecters were great (Beatrix, Freya,Armarant and Vivi are awesome BTW), except they were made like cartoons. It had it's moments, but I didn't like it as much as the other FFs i played (i only played 7,8,9,and tactics, so i guess i really cant judge yet)

I agree most of the characters were made like cartoons, but Amarant was not made cartoon-like was he?

Anyway, the storyline was great, the battle system was not confusing unlike the one in FFVIII,but,I still say VII was the best and VIII was not that good.

The battle sysytem in FFVIII wasnt that confusing to me it was pretty straight forward. It was very unique and very addictive I spent hours and countless hours drawing from different monsters while still getting my levels

well at first the features like Elm-Atk J were confusing, and also, the windows were overlapping, unlike in IX,so,that was a flaw which,in my opinion, contributed to making FFIX easier to play(in my opinion ok?)

I have never had a problem with any battle system as far as it being confusing...but it was solely the ATB gauge and it's slowness that made it suck, IMHO.

Armarant was the one that looked the most realistic, J.H.

So far FF8 has ranked lowest in my books. I didn't care for the storyline at all and the most fun I had was playing the card game...

They were all good, but i love a good storyline, and FFIX was quite dissapointing in that area, and that is mainly why im turned off it.

Btw, Jnanee, Amarant did look rather 'toon-ish. I didn't mind the style of the characters though.

FFIX didn't have a very good storyline and the characters looked too cartoony

First of all, all of those complaining about the characters of FF9 must be newbies to the series ( playing FF8 first) if not, my mistake, but they were made old skool! I will admit the ATB system was slow, but besides that, the storyline was great, because it drew me into the world. Unlike FF8 (which is the worst by far) which was all over the place. The music did not match, and they tried to put realistic characters in an unrealistic fantasy world in which they were out of place! The storyline was awful, and I was not too excited about the battle system. It was too easy with the draw feature, and I hated the junction system. I like to build it up, and my magic shouldn't be contingent to what GF I have. All in all, I disliked FF8!

FF9 sucked the most apart from FFX-2 (a disgrace to FF). The junction system i thought was reall good, FF8 was one of the best FF's i ever played. And explain how your magic depended on what GF you had? Also the characters were far superior to FF9's considering the main character was a monkey...where as Squall was far more appealing as a bad ass main character. I agree the music did not go so well especially the one when you were in the Ragnarok, but its music was more outstanding than FF9's in which the music was not exciting and did not seem to be off good affect. I also hate FF9 due to the characters semi chibiness and the fact that he main character was a poof. Not only was the main character a poof but so was the main bad guy, Kuja. Ultimately FF9 sucked due to beeing much too childish, and the characters foolish, but one good point was Vivi who is one of my all time favourite characters.

FF-X2 was horrible, and I don't really see why so many people hate FF9 see my post in fav FF. But hey I guess it depends on the person what they believe in and who they are inside on how the game touches them.

These are US releases in order of worst to best:

    8
    10
    7
    3
    2

I didn't rank 1, even though I played it when it originally came out, because it is just a different type of game, everything was so basic etc. Its not fair to compare.

2 by far is the best.

Also there is a big gap between 7 and 10. 8 and 10 I wasn't satisfied when they were over. 7 I was.

7 I played forever too, it was a very long game if you did all the side quests. I think I spent a month chocobo racing.

either you have all not played final fantasy mystic quest or you have all overlooked it because it really is crap, absolute, total crap. Oh, and all of you who think ff8 is the worst are dumb because its pretty much as good as ff7.

here here...I agree with Ed...8 is a superb game...don't know why anyone has anyhting against it...the characters are cool, and so is the game. worst so far is probably x-2 because its too girlish and childish.
