    It seems there hasn't been much discussion of the Arthurian legends lately(looking back at previous threads it looks like it's been a year since Arthur had a thread about him). So, in the hopes of sparking some Arthurian interest, I've created this thread.

    I read somewhere that Merlin actually started out a well-kempt wizard, then got mixed with legends of a rugged, hairy Wild Man of the Forest, looking more like this guy>>> :faceit:, to become the bearded old man we all know and love today.

    I've heard theories that Merlin was just a metaphor resembling the way of the past, and the old religion (pagan i believe? correct me if i'm wrong), opposing the way of what was then the 'present' (christianity). So he was not as much a real person as he was a, spirit you could say? I don't mean literally though...hmm...hard to explain.
