Googled 'elvish or elven' and was directed here.
Must say, THAT particular thread was most helpful, so decided to stay & browse.

Interesting goings ons 'round these parts.

    Temporarily living in Turkey.
Spend summers in Scotland, though this summer, Germany will suffice.
Been stationed overseas for 10 years.
Returning 'home' to U.S., some time this summer.
Working on book II--dark fantasy romance, epic (that just seems like a bloody mouthful, doesn't it?)

There's my life, in a nutshell...okay, so it's more like the skins of beer nuts...

    Hey, Pyro,
I rent a self catering flat in Troon. On a clear day, ye' can view Arran, an island that is a country all in itself, or, as the locals call it: Mini-Scotland.

We go falconing up in Milngavie, do the tourists thing in Edinburgh, trudge through castles, and enjoy Highland Games...okay, so more like 'enjoy kilt clad men on windy days', and have even been lucky to stumble upon a sword fight and jousting tournament at DunDonald Castle--THAT was a hoot and provided FABULOUS pictures for research.

This summer, I was trying to stay in Edinburgh...but their prices didn't meet with my cheap budget, so I'll take the teens to Germany for several weeks, possibly Poland as well.
This will be my first summer away from Scotland.
    No brogue.
    No kilts.
    No Greggs Bakery.

    *begins twitching*

Okay...major question that will show my noobness on this particular forum: are links to our own webpages not permitted as a signature line?
On another forum, it's no biggy...though the personized avatar can't happen until 50 posts, so being able to personalize here, right away, was kind of a sweet boon.

Links aren't allowed because the mods have no control over the content of external sites. As the forum has a high percentage of younger users, it's probably a wise decision..:)

    *swoons*
Isle of Lewis is a determined destination.
Caithness is a determined location to buy a house and play hermit during winter...but, alas, I'll probably have to settle for renting a winter home, stock up, and burrow in. Favorite thing to do in Scotland: simply blend in with the locals; travel the unbeaten path.
Okay, and listen in rapt attention to a piper. . .

Can I be a MAJOR tourist and claim to LOVE your Polish dishes? Gah--bought too much of it in Germany, having lived there this past decade.

No, no, a Scots-German American living in Turkey. Grandmothers each had the brogue, grandfathers each had the German grrrr, or so we used to tease. I'm an Air Force wife, bumming 'round the world.
    I know.
I REALLY suffer for my country, ja?:halo:
