well...already on page nine...but still it holds relevant...I have jsut started AGoT. I'm only a few chapters in (Robert comes to visit Ned).

You were right in saying that it is is a lot more adult in its writing, and is quite different from many other series. I am actually so far surprised by Martin's cruelty. Especially from Viserys towards his sister. his cruelty is believeable but still somewhat too cruel to be real.

But all in all, it has been an interesting read, and his writing is good. Also the changing of POV form chapter to chapter is interesting aswell. The characters are very different, and although not much has been said about them, they seem to be unique. Although so far...I do believe Virserys needs to be skull****ed by an orc.

Met's reading ASoIaF?! It's a dream come true. I'm so glad another TFFer has taken up reading Martin.

And yes, Viserys is a royal ass.

An ass is a very weak term for what he is.

Lol yes I am reading it. I have run out of stuff to read...I was really looking for some Forgotten Realms...but I couldn't put this series off any longer, plus its good =]

It was, and her kicking the bucket so soon in the story gave me a hard time getting the name in the quiz :p. You may not know it, but this thread is actually a plan to get people to read ASoIaF. They see so many others starting it that they feel pressure to read it...Genious...

You ever come upon a post that you're not sure how to respond to it at all especially if it feels like noone really will? But you feel that you have to say something just to keep it going so it won't fade away and die? So you come up with some little quirp to say just to keep it going and make people think hey I now have something I can respond to?

YES. Thank you. I need more recruits into the Guild. :D And yeah, it's "adult," but Plish is only 14 and I was 14 when I started reading it. :p Now I'm only 15. A REALLY big difference there. ;)

and then the next person who responds totally ignores your response? and you want to hit them with a dirty brick of monkey feces? and then all meaning starts to fade from what you were saying and you realize that what you're currently saying makes about as much sense as liking "jaime" and then you feel trapped to keep on rambling so the urge of smashing someone with monkey crap leaves?

I just finished rereading A Feast For Crows. How are these books so good? I don't get it. It's ungodly. And that was the worst of the four so far!

Lol, so true. Although I wouldn't term AFFC as the "worst" - it's just set-up material. And it's given us quite a lot of speculation to think about. :p

As a book by itself though it is the "worst" of the bunch. Still really good but not as good as the others.

Very very good book. not as good as the others but it does set up a lot of future story and leaves a lot hanging up in the air

Yeah, Kshar and LD are right. I guess it does leave a lot of speculation (especially the Hound and Pate, I swear...I'm going to go insane before the next book comes out).
