Err. you don't actually have to have studied anything to know about stuff :p

The Netherlands - thankfully - doesn't have a punitive damages system. That means that there has to be actual prove for financial damages or compensation to be successful in a civil law suit. There is some room for immaterial damage, but it is quite limited. Wikipedia claims the highest immaterial compensation ever rewarded in a civil law suit in The Netherlands was € 150.000 in 2007.

As such, society can move quite freely and needless remarks concerning and limiting liability are quite scarce and frowned upon, even. Regarding your last example, there is a tendency towards avoiding any suspicion of child molestation. I would say that this currently the biggest taboo in society, sometimes leading to quite bizarre situations, such as described above.

Political correctness and daft health and safety protocols are rife in the UK. We can't even sing Bah Bah Black Sheep to kids any more in case it offends someone! Discipline is pretty much not permitted by any adult and that includes raising your voice to scold the child. Heaven forbid the child doesn't want to do something or has put themselves in harms way. Examples of the light bulb changing rules are pretty common. Basically, common sense has been removed and replaced with rules that dictate every thing you do (in public). While the sentiment behind PC is well intended the application has made it a complete and utter farce.
