What do yall think? Did any of the things that bothered the author of this article bother you as well?

I personally didn't really notice any of the things mentioned, aside from the sexuality and the maturity of the children. I just figured under those conditions, children would have to grow up faster.

Honestly nothing about these books really bothered me. I too think the Children would have been forced to grow up faster given the conditions. I think some of the points he made are some of the reasons i like Martins books in the first place. But alas not everyone who reads theses book are gonna like them, and if you dont like them dont read them :)

On a side note check this out it also has interestin idea's on certain subjects in ASOIAF

Hmm, he didn't really like AGOT much did he ? Well, as most have said, "Its not for everyone," though his examples of "bad writing" leave me wondering how much this guy knows about literature. To me, ASOIAF is probably the best series Ive ever read.

His complaints about the writing style are bordering on nitpicking. Every book you'd ever read will gave some slightly awkward passages, but the paragraph about the other's sword wasn't one of them.
And Robert is nothing like Brian Blessed.

That's exactly what I felt, I always thought that whole chapter was excellent, and conveyed the other-worldly aspect of the Other's quite well. The description was necessary and not cumbersome at all.

The children all used to have to grow up fast. Look at "Master & Commander" you have 12 year old officers on the boat, and thats supposed to be very historically accurate. Girls used to marry at 12,13,14 too.
