I am currently reading George R.R Martin's A game of Thrones, and I have seen the TV show so far season 1 and 2.

So if you want to ask something or recommend, some books movies TV shows or something I am glad to hear it from you guys.

Note my first language is Dutch so maybe my English is not that good, just saying :D.

Hello! *waves* Welcome to TFF! :devilbat:

I'm a rather huge fan of the Game of Thrones television series (I dare say more than the books - please don't hate me :p ). A few of my favorite series are The Hythron Chronicles by Jennifer Fallon, The Borderlands Novels by Lorna Freeman and The Secret Books of Paradys by Tanith Lee. Have you read any of these?

    Welcome to TFF Orcsgather!

G.R.R. Martin is great, and the HBO series too!

The Netherlands is pretty close to Belgium (where I am), where more exactly?

Welcome to TFF Orcsgather, i hope you'll enjoy it here! A song of ice and fire is really great.
Another series i would recommend is the Sword of truth series by Terry Goodkind, or the Night angel trilogy by Brent Weeks. Both great series, sword of truth a bit longer than the night angel trilogy though.

Welcome to the forums! Don't know if anyone will join me in recommending David Eddings' Belgariad here? Also I really enjoy Tom Arden's Orokon series, but I seem to be the only one...

I'm quite a newbie when it comes to fantasy series. I have read Tolkien's books and a thew Stephen Kings books.

    Hi!

I'm also new and I'm glad to see I'm not the only Dutch person here :p.
The belgariad series is one of my favorites, but I read them a long time ago. Other books of Eddings are also very good, especially the ones following Sparhawk. Unfortunately I don't know what that series is called in English.

I read A song of ice and fire last year, I was so addicted to these books! Couldn't stop reading and can't wait till next book.

Hahaha, You should probably read them, see for yourself how they are. I read them in swedish, maybe thats why they were so horrible. But after that i stayed away from Eddings for yeaaars. Until a friend made me read Belgariad, and now im sorta, okay, i might read some eddings, if it sounds really really good.

Welkom, Orcsgather! Don't you worry about your English - there are quite a lot of non-native speakers on TFF. :p

Haha, I liked them so much, but who knows, maybe it has indeed something to do with the fact that you read them in swedish ;). Are you swedish?

haha well, I'm indeed as blonde as she is, but I'm not sure I match Beldaran's beauty :p.

Yes that's what they are called! I feel ashamed, one of the books is standing right in front of me in my bookcase :S. Have fun reading them :)!

Hi Orcsgather and welcome to the forum. How do you get on with reading Game of Thrones? I've heard it's in first person present tense which I find difficult generally.

Well i might have to read them again some day, just to see if i still find them horrible. i was not even in my teens when i read them. Mightve been too young to enjoy them really. But ive heard lots of people bash them. But thats the beauty of different opnions! I love Sword of truth, while our dear Sparrow here at the forum hates it with all he has. ;P
    And yes, im swedish ^^

Couldn't agree more :)! And not in your teens!! That's very young! I read my first real fantasy series when I was 11 (LOTR), except for HP haha!
